Honestly it’s a miracle that Smash even still has a competitive scene given that Nintendo has made it very clear they don’t want it to exist and designed the game in such a way that half the game’s content has to be disabled in order for it to be competitive in the first place.

Every game has things that look a little awkward if you look at them too closely. The King Kong game would be fine if something of this caliber were the worst thing wrong with its animations.

Not a 1:1 comparison. Mario games have been mostly cutesy cartoony games and a Goomba just walking is all we’ve really come to expect from their animation.
