Their contracts won’t be officially terminated until the end of October and they’ll be expected to work through the rest of the month.
I could potentially see the argument that he can’t get money because it’s a modification to a different company’s software. But the implication that making mods is not a type of labor is Grade A “I have no idea what I am talking about” horseshit.
Modding has a long tradition of being free. Mainly because it’s typically derivative work that can be legally distributed only with the permission of the owners of the actual game. Because of this, modders who try to charge for their work tend to get huge blowback (and, in some cases get themselves a nice cease and…
Telling people to get over it is probably the worst thing he could’ve said. its going to make it even worse.
He’s not saying anything about MS being a hero, and he’s not calling the retail stores bad, he’s saying that AAA publishers were overly reliant on the moat they built of dominating game sales by dominating shelf space in retail stores (which is something game companies pay for), and didn’t figure out how to keep that…
It looks fine.
I don’t find those micro transactions comparable to NFTs the way they were messaged and promised. These micro transactions are one-offs not to be resold or traded, not meant to be taken from one game into another, not available on an independent blockchain.
You don’t need NFTs or blockchain to run a closed market for skins or whatever.
Seriously. People who genuinely hope that Nintendo would either go third party or get bought out by a company do not know what they are asking for. I”ve been saying that for years that it’s an awful idea and it’s not worth it just so you can get a 4K Pokemon game running at 60 fps.
There’s room for Steam to be much worse, but let’s not pretend it was an unequivocal good to begin with given its role in normalising online DRM, digital-only releases and lootboxes.
Yeah here
You realize both siderism is a giant “I am a disingenuous nazi troll” flag, right?
I really don’t care how the nazi folks feel about this, but seeing how upset it makes you makes me very happy.
Agreed. They’ll make ridiculous arguments because they don’t actually care about convincing anyone, just obfuscating or twisting things enough to grind down the resolve of their opponents. For instance, claiming stupid shit like “removing the mod is censorship”, despite the fact that the mod itself is very clearly…
Please, please let this goddess forsaken excuse die in a fire already.
“Well, fuck off then...” is the *ONLY* correct response to bigots.
You’re right, we need to refer to these people as what they really are: pedophiles, rapists and nazis. I’m so glad we’re on the same page about this!
Unless that’s exactly what they are, which is the case here.
