Gotta have clowns to distract from the really monstrous crap they do.
Gotta have clowns to distract from the really monstrous crap they do.
There wasn’t any dignity in the first place.
it’s the same paradox that fuels fascism, the “tough guy/persecuted martyr” bullshit you see on Fox News on a minute-by-minute basis. When will a white male EVER catch a break in this country? Always under attack despite only wanting the best for everyone, and by “best” of course I mean “they are in charge and…
I love that they’re OK with the badge but “no comment” re: “I am work with many police officers” LOL
I hate christian nationalists.
Lifelong Bostonian here: I didn’t hear a thing about this until now.
I reject the premise of this article to begin with. The GOP know no such thing as ‘shame’, so it’s impossible for them to be humiliated. They’re only the party of seizing and holding onto power, there’s no other goal for them.
the most dangerous thing about trump’s political career is the spotlight he put on all the supposed checks and balances to presidential power which turned out to be nothing more than behavioral norms and apparently unfounded fear of reprisal from the electorate. if anyone just as power hungry but even slightly more…
OMFG! I realize it’s a waste of my emotional energy, but those things enrage me. I will go out of my way to provide feedback starting with how I found the whole rating loop emotionally manipulative and that it soured me on the interaction and the company as a whole, and ramping up from there.
I know nearly every normal, sane person is completely disturbed that a person as incompetent and broken as Hershel Walker is so close to a Senate seat but the very, very sad reality is that this guy is the ideal GOP candidate.
“I can haz badge”.
I’ve noticed their new playbook is to tweet or post something completely untrue, all the while knowing that is the case, and letting other, gullible people replicate and disseminate it (because...the originator is a ‘respected’ or ‘known’ official, and there’s nooo way they would ever lie about such a thing!). Then…
I mean...as with t***p, unless Walker literally shit on the floor and rolled around in it while happily laughing (which would at best elicit a stern “no comment” LOL), did you think the GQP would do anything BUT heap praise on his “performance”? He formed a few complete sentences, he didn’t fall down, he repeated some…
did they though? they don’t seem to care what rational people think and irrational people agree with them. so are they really humiliated when the people they care about agree and the people they don’t care about don’t?
I always love the sheer inanity of “he exceeded expectations.” If I was in a fight against Brock Lesnar, and I managed to run away from him for 15 seconds before he beat me into a coma, I would have exceeded expectations for my performance in that fight. Still in a coma. Fuck all that noise.
Of all the things to pick to claim that Walker helped the cops with, “mental health situations”? Really? Sure he did, the same way Matt Gaetz runs workshops on helping teenagers spot predators.
After fifteen years, their response to mental health crises still hasn’t evolved past ‘turn off your body cam and aim for the centre of the torso’?
I have a badge that says Grammar Police. Our motto is “To Correct and Serve” and yet I don’t have the authority to go around correcting everyone’s grammar. I had some of those wings from flying as a child, and yet no one let me fly an actual 747. I had a shirt in college that was embroidered with all kinds of medals…
Unfortunately, facts do matter on Twitter, and many were quick to point out both major problems with Erickson’s remark.
He is probably doing this to flush out something else that was coming.
