The thing is, republican and NRA propaganda has been so successful that whenever the subject of guns comes up, gun-owners will automatically reference the notion that democrats are coming for their guns. It’s a purely Pavlovian-conditioned response at this point - no thinking necessary.

Your girlfriend killed a snake who was just minding its own business, probably eating things you don’t want in your garden (or house), just because it was there, rather than, you know, just moving it somewhere else? And you’re okay with that because you “don’t like snakes”? What the fuck is wrong with you?

This is so unfortunately true, and it makes me feel so hopeless at times. I don’t mean to “both sides” this when I say it, because the right is so much more stupid and cruel, but people in general respond to simple messaging (which is something the democrats still haven’t figured out, as their messaging is all over

New Jez just ain’t the same. I’m starting to wonder if it’s all written by bots, now.

Because it’s not enough for rich sociopaths to get laid. They get off on transgression and getting away with it.

Typical republican hypocrisy - even knuckledraggers have feet. Now I’m being a ped-somethingorother....  Oh, yeah, a pedant.

Literally everything republicans claim to hold dear they can be shown to be massive hypocrites about.

Never take a politician at their word (doubly so for right-wingers).

The people are unable to focus on class-consciousness when they’re constantly distracted by identity politics, which the republicans wield like a weapon because it’s so effective in splitting up the democrat’s base. Dem politicians fall for it and end up trying to cater to everyone, while never once speaking of class

That’s cold-blooded...

Cool, cool. Two more things to add to the list of “Stuff People Blame on Socialism That is Actually Capitalism”.

There’s a lot of overlap between narcissism and pyschopathy at the clinical level.

The probably just look at someone’s twitter posts and retweets.

Probably because most of the people who remember Tomato are gone, now. Poe’s Law is a fine line to walk, but if you do it well...

Quite easily.

Ecstasy doesn’t make you stupid. He did that all on his own. If he needed any chemical help publishing this, alcohol (and lots of it) would do the trick. Don’t further sully MDMA, which has legitimate pyschotherapuetical uses, and has been demonized enough. Any damage it has caused can be linked ultimately to

This. Power attracts the corruptible. Police are rotten to the core, and the position itself attracts malevolent people. The more power we allow them to accumulate, the worse they’ll get. They already treat the populace as “the enemy”, and now they have military gear.

Anyone who has actually done laboratory research on animals will tell you that the protocols are so strict that this sort of thing is unlikely. Furthermore, most researchers treat the animals in their care better than they are treated by their bosses. These animals wouldn’t be allowed to “suffer and die”. They would

I fully agree with this point, but it should be noted that it’s not just the GOP pushing this kind of legislation. Maybe the dems have a different rationale, maybe not (probably varies from one to the next).

So, even more out of touch than a boomer?
