The degree to which anti-abortion “protesters” are allowed to harass, intimidate, and even physically interfere with people just trying to get into these clinics, regardless of why they’re going there, will never cease to amaze me. Most of that behavior should be illegal. I used to see posts by someone who escorted

I mean, when did dems do anything substantial to retaliate in such a fashion at any point during trumps reign of corruption and ur-fascism? The impeachment trials? lol. No, those assholes know for a fact dems will do nothing of the sort. How has “going high” worked out for them?

The fascists have weaseled and cheated their way into power. No one took us seriously when we on the actual left were raising the alarms. The party that’s supposed to oppose them is full of people that have a vested interest in not noticing that bipartisanship is fucking dead, because fascism kills anything remotely

I like the gist of this idea. The plan you laid out would never fly - not on a state or federal level - as both republican and democratic politicians would shoot it down. But the general idea of putting the financial burden, at minimum, on these forced-birth fucks is solid and could actually be a deterrent.

That’s a fair point. My problem is with people who seem to think voting is all that needs to happen, when it’s clearly not enough. Manchin and Sinema aren’t the only ones who suck, either. If you managed to make them irrelevant, there’s still going to be some asshole who doesn’t want to do the right thing, most likely

Ethical questions aside, I can see this becoming an argument of some sort at some point. Given their mythical thinking on this subject (or in general) they probably think you can just plop the embryo/fetus/whatever into an artificial womb.

I mean, that’s kind of my point? They keep making these 12 weeks designations around the detection of a heartbeat, right? And then talking about viability, and there’s this massive disconnect that they don’t even mention (because it would ruin their arguments). It’s in their best interest not to get into details like

This approach to art is fundamentally lazy

Effectively? Yes. You’re not supposed to question, object, or critique. Go back to mindless consumption of product. It’s the American Way (TM)!

I’m confused by the term “fetal viability”, and why the detection of a heartbeat indicates said viability. If you were to remove the fetus from the womb at 12 weeks without killing it, it would die within minutes (or seconds) regardless of what you hooked it up to. Yet republicans base their restrictive laws on this

Ah, but it’s only women who are supposed to refrain.

It’s even more insane when you consider that republicans think him and his wife were “brave” for their display, rather than a couple of scaredy-cats who immediately went for their guns because some people were walking past their house.

It doesn’t matter whether it happened or not, because a single case is not representative of the whole. It’s just one instance, and most likely an outlier, at that.

This is what frustrates me about liberals that say stuff like “Just vote” or “write letters”, etc. Voting isn’t going to change anything, at this point, if dems aren’t actually doing anything to stop republicans from employing undemocratic measures. If republicans aren’t punished for doing illegal things, let alone

While I think you’re right, the money would give people some breathing room, so to speak. Ultimately, until we change the way we do things (I saw “we”, but I really mean the assholes running our governments such that they cater to the rich, etc.) we’re still just kicking the can further down the road.

Even checked they’ve been pushing towards fascism for as long as I’ve been alive.

These sort of places are all over, and they get to run without any sort of oversight by claiming religious exemptions, which is incredibly fucked-up. In any other place (say a state-run facility for people with mental illness or developmental disabilities) you can’t restrain people physically unless it’s written up

The picture paired with the headline is pretty funny, but come on..

I left the day trump was elected, as well (I just never bothered to delete my account).
