When Newt Fucking Gingrich declared we were living in a “post-truth” era, I knew we were doomed. Couple that with the fact that lies spread faster than facts, and the internet spreads things at the speed of light (pretty much), and the whole phenomenon just keeps snowballing (pun intended).
