How much welding do you think is done by actual humans on a modern vehicle assembly line? I’m going to go out on a limb and say very nearly none.

Lol! That’s what the strikers said at a plant I used to work at... All the office folks came out, did the union jobs, and beat the “rate” set by the union goons... All the strikers were pissed and clung to the “WAIT FOR ALL THE QUALITY DEFECTS TO COME BACK!!”

Or, in the case of the “union-busting” I was part of, he’ll go out, do the job for a couple of days, blow the shit out of the “rate” set by the union workers, and realize he’s paying too much for labor...

The problem with modern HOA’s is you need like 90% approval to change anything.

Oh its pretty rational. HOAs are run and supported be small minded fascists who have to be up in other peoples shit.

I have an irrational hatred of HOAs for things like this.

I honestly cannot see living in an HOA or COA unless it was a rental property. I can not stand having to ask permission to do what they I want on my property.

Colin Chapman used to say that the perfect race car was one that broke down while taking its victory lap. If it lasts any longer than that, then components were clearly over-engineered and could have been made lighter. If it lasts any less, you DNF. This is the same idea, except applied to fuel management.

Dumb bastard wasn’t thinking short term enough. Smart MBA types know that nothing matters beyond the next quarter. As a taxpayer, I look forward to doing my duty as a non-1%er and bailing Ford out in the next decade.

I’m questioning how much tunnel vision is going on here. The article cites stock prices and future viability, but as stupid as investor boards are they don’t boot the guy at the top just because he isn’t kissing up to them and making them more money. Either someone somewhere is seeing something we’re not allowed to,

Exactly, it’s a extremely slippery slope we really don’t want to start down on.

This law and device will give every LEO cause to pull every single person who owns a phone from their car and search their phone and the person since they will be in custody, even if it’s just pulling someone over for speeding.

No, actually we don’t. We could accept that the miniscule improvement in personal safety isnt worth the loss of freedom or privacy. Cause it ain’t.

Why the need to access the data so quickly? If the fact that someone texting was the cause of my sons death comes to light in 4 hours or 6 months, it makes no difference, my son is dead. There is a need for breathalyzers to be quick, since the evidence changes with time, but cell phone records are fairly permanent

I, for one, welcome our new option of buying a Reliant Robin.......

They still produce incredibly sub par shit that they are selling in 3rd world countries like Angola, Bangladesh and very soon in Alabama.

Also, automakers know where deregulation would lead. Less money for the established automakers (easier for “hacks” to get in and disrupt) and all at the convenience of a worse environment -because automakers DO understand their impact if unchecked.

You do realize that the Chinese “OEMs” are using the leftover and outdated tooling used to make those American vehicles you hate so much.

After personally witnessing 40+ years of American car companies making crap to sell to us I am not sure we need a Chinese bogeyman to scare us.

I’m sure there’s a bunch of Chinese car companies that would love environmental and safety regulations to be relaxed, so they can invade the market with cheap and dirty deathtraps.
