Trailers get abused until they’re practically caving in on themselves. You wouldn’t want to waste time/money doing anything to them to make them heavier and more expensive. Focus on aero for the trailers and leave the fancy tech for the tractor.

Anything is nuts today with all the safety regulations. We certainly wouldn’t agree to put highly flammable liquid in 3000 lbs vehicles and let teenagers drive them at 80 mph unassisted if it were a new thing today.
