You are completely right. BUT, if you’ll look at the video I posted right above your comment you’ll see that the Volvo SHOULD HAVE stopped. And if the Volvo didn’t stop (which it didn’t) then the operator should have been able to do something (regardless of how effective the result was) if they weren’t playing with…

..and dogs, and small children, and basketballs... etc. etc. Smaller than a basketball might be difficult to detect by the LiDAR, but everything larger than that should be easily detected and avoided without human interference. (And all of these are easily set up, even in a large parking lot.)
