Meanwhile, in Uber API’s Terms of Service, it says you may not use it alongside any competitive services...does guess Google get a “free pass” to disobey one of the very few rules?

As an avid motorcycle rider I was pretty stoked to see this news. Just plugged a random Bangkok ride for fun - Thailand Cultural Centre to Thanon Phaya Thai. 7.7km trip (~4.78 miles). That ‘moto’ ride would cost an estimated 54-68 baht ($1.51-1.91 USD for the curious). There’s no surge in that area right now, so

Here’s an exact list of the changes that just took place early today on NYC, for those who care. Other cities got hit too.

Very interesting. Makes me think they should team up with Google if this takes off - Combine some Google Maps functionality and necessity into the route that auto-Uber cars tend to drive on. Why not.

Just do yourself a favor and check the current rate(s) JUST before requesting a ride/considering leaving. I’ve seriously seen rather large surges just drop down or disappear within 5 minutes. Save. Your. Money.

Totally depends on the city/Uber market. But I’d agree that new drivers in general tend to be ‘fare-happy’. I didn’t know my rating until a driver recently said how he saw I was rated 5 stars! I don’t take tooooo many rides, and I consider myself a pretty courteous/fair person, But I was still happy to hear that. Now

Dontcha’ hate when that happens :(

Well...Between their “app” and super-futuristic-high-tech new Taxi, They sure are doing what they can to keep up with Uber. But overall trip cost & typical driver personalities still need to be addressed if they want a fighting chance.

Fellow Phoenix...er here. Proud of our city for realizing that the benefits, safety, economy & future potential are very worthwhile. Yellow cabs will soon be a thing of the past.

I like it. Keep up the good work!

Now that’s neat. I’m no beer snob but I instantly thought of all the people who went “yeah...top rated by who....”. I guess they need to know their nightlife as well as they know their code - to make this all work :)

You raised some very valid points here....which unfortunately most people seem to overlook.

RIP HitchBot :( Gone but not forgotten.

But why is this Uber’s problem to begin with? Why must they take the heat & large dent in business/growth? One could argue that if Uber driver’s aren’t there, Then there would actually be even more cars on the road; Because those who were going to hitch a ride to their destination, Are now forced to take their own

Uber ASSIST has actually been around for a bit, I’m assuming perhaps they’ve been testing it in just a small handful of cities. I think it’s awesome what they’re doing; Helping the elderly/disabled get around easier.

I’m probably one of the last people you should take work productivity advice from... But for me - I know that I just have to convince myself to *start*. Just start. Start whatever it is I need to be doing. I have noticed time and time again, That once you force yourself just to begin the tedious task... Suddenly it’s
