Plausible Patty

I like coffee, but something about it cold just accentuates the acrid, bitter roastiness of it.  I am also anti-coffee stouts.  There’s one out here that everyone raves about (Bent Paddle Double Shot Double Black) that I can’t bear to spend the money to try, just because I know the chances of me liking it are slim.

I miss my little weirdo. Lost him a week before Halloween and won’t be used to him not being around for a very long time. (His bro in the background misses him too).

Oh definitely the former.

I feel like its been so long since I finished season 3, I need a bit of a recap.  At this point, I’m mostly invested in Kido, so I’m glad he’s well represented in the new season.

Totally my conscious decision and not at all due to my general off-putting demeanor.

Absolutely agreed... just speaking to the cliche of wine folks and the beers they drink.

I swear, every time a sommelier is asked about beer, they go straight to saisons or lambics.  Sadly, I never could get over my aversion to yeast funk, but some of the kettle sours are up my alley.

Season 1 was a slog, but interesting enough to stick to, but I genuinely started liking the show with season 2.  Season 3 wasn’t quite as good overall for me, but has some really good moments.

It’s not for the birthday-haver, it’s for their friends and family, who enjoy embarrassing their loved ones.  It’s why I have no friends.

I’d rather watch an adaptation of his novel about pants.  That’s not even a joke.

I don’t know that I’ve been in a neighborhood with a decent Cub (St. Paul and suberbs for the past eighteen years), so they’ve always felt like I’m being punished shopping there.  To be honest, I actually like grocery shopping, so my wife and I tend to make a day of it and go to four or five stores just to get what’s

Fariboult is the furthest North they go... a bit of a schlep for me, but next time I’m down that way, I’ll give it a look.

I’ve been to the one in Bloomington- a little out of the way, but they have a nice layout.  I just wish they had a little more variety in their selection.

Just so much selection there.. I will say I prefer to hit up a butcher for most meat (although I’ve been buying a fair amount from Costco lately, too).

God I love a good grocery store.  I grew up in Western Washington, and all the stores kind of stepped up their game in the late 90s.  I really took for granted how nice a Safeway was when I moved away in 2002.  Here in Minnesota, the grocery stores kind of suck.  Everyone would talk about Byerly’s “it’s a grocery

I feel like the “scan a barcode and it knows how to cook it” gimmick will be a novelty that wears off quickly, but it is clever.

Same.  I’ve tried the “convect convert” a couple of times, but never got the hang of it.  I also hate my oven, so there’s that (the walls promptly warped, so racks don’t sit in it right).

We’re a household of two, so a small size doesn’t bother me.  Thanks for the heads up!

The expected ship date suggests I’m not getting one of the first round, but I’ll report back whenever it does show up.  I only use a microwave to sanitize the sponge, but my wife uses it all the time, so an all-in-one replacement seemed like a decent idea.
