This isn’t accurate. The Eagles coach in 2015 was Chip Kelly, THIS Eagles staff admitted they got the idea from the Bears last year, but the play has been used by college teams for a decade.

I never said there was anything wrong with RPOs. It is just annoying to listen to someone say that over and over and be wrong over and over.

but it wasn’t special until Philly used it...

Nope, stole it from Chicago.

Watch the mic’d up version and listen to the refs talking it over and acknowledging that Clement had full control. Then cry some more, Pats fans.

Cry harder, bitch!

That’s what I’ve been saying all along. Even more than the strip sack, that long-ass drive won them that game.

It was stolen? Was it?

This is some delicious USDA Choice Kinja.

I can’t tell if this person is serious but people who sincerely think the Clement catch should have been overturned are terrible human beings who clearly hate the very sport they purport to “enjoy.”

My roommate has zero experience with football, so I was simultaneously noticing, and struggling to adequately explain, just how brilliant that second-to-last drive of Philadelphia was. They started out a point down with about 10:30 left in the game, and they bled about 8 1/2 minutes off the clock by just pummeling the

The refs cheated.

How about when Marrone, who at the time had coached a brilliant game, took his team off the field at the end of the first half with 2 timeouts and a minute to go? Didn’t even try to get in field goal range. Coaches do that too often, play not to lose instead of to win.

Be real Pats fans. The Eagles took it to the house by executing on the field what was a very specific and well engineered and a very well-coached live game plan.

But RPOs were only a small part of their approach during the Super Bowl, contrary to NBC analyst Cris Collinsworth’s repeated use of the phrase.

You are describing winning football. The Eagles also minimized penalties and turnovers. They outplayed the Pats on special teams, too.

I cannot tell you how many times the Patriots were bailed out this year by wimpy coaches punting on 4th & 2 from the Pats’ 45, or kicking field goals on 4th & goal from the 4. Bad coaches give away expected points all over the place. But in the Super Bowl, it was Belichick who played conservative by going for a FG

Well BB’s expression sure matched mine at the time. :( Belichick likely looked so incredulous because they had the ball in Brady’s hands with 2 mins to go and down 5, which I as a fan felt pretty good about.

All of my dipshit Patriot fan friends are all like “Great game. Back to work” as if their aspiration in life is to live like Nick fucking Saban and get no joy out of anything.

Cris Collinsworth is that you, cheer up you bitter queen.
