My wife and I just dropped our cable. We were probably paying about $125 and we hardly watched TV except for sports and Hallmark around Christmas time. We definitely don’t watch as much during the spring/summer so it made sense. We tried Sling TV on the Xbox One app and what a POS! I debated about getting Apple TV

The cheapest PS Vue plans on my screen are $49 on sale for $39. I see no plans for just $30.

Where do you live that you get 250 (I assume you meant Mbps) internet for only $50/month? Because I want to move there. If I were to cut out TV and just pay for 150 Mbps internet here, it’s about $100.

I’ve tried all three services, and so far PlayStation Vue and DirecTV Now are tied for my favorite. Sling was buggy and difficult to navigate, although it may have improved since I last tried it more than a year ago. I like the DVR feature on PlayStation Vue, but DirecTV Now has a better lineup and is super easy to

I think the Shield is the only device with hardware accelerated Plex transcoding (every other system does it all on CPU), and at under 15 watts that likely makes it the most power efficient Plex server you can get. Could be quite the bonus to some.

Proud owner of a SHIELD TV. I cannot recommend this thing enough.

THIS. The Shield is virtually unstoppable. It plays literally everything. And properly supports DTS-HD and TrueHD like you mentioned. And I think they all come with the remote and controller. When I bought mine from Best Buy, it had no indication that it included the remote. But when I opened it up, lo and behold,

I have both the Roku 4 and the Shield. I ditched the Roku for the Shield because of one thing, sound. The Shield is the only one that supports DTS-HD, TrueHD, and Atmos playback. If you are using Plex or videos on a USB stick/drive, it was the only one that allowed that playback. Plus, you get much, much more with it.
