Pretty sure that’s been a thing for years now.

So an update on my 48hr sous vide chili. Holy fuckin hell that was sooooo good. Using oxtail for a beef broth that was then reduced and added gave the chili so much meaty flavor. Because I cooked it for so long, things also seemed to thicken up very nicely. People kept asking me what I used to thicken the chili and

My IRL garden suffered so bad when I was playing that game. Was too lazy to go out and weed/water the plants.

Welcome to Central American livin  :P

There is no internal thermometer on the oven. The only way to try and maintain a lower temp is by constantly opening the door or turning the thing off and on again. I have the flame so low that it’s just barely even lit and it still turns into “The pits of hell” lol

I got the same problems with my burners cause again the butane. Especially considering all my cookware is cast iron. I literally can not cook rice on my stove, cant get the temp low enough, and have to use an electric burner. I can sear the shit outta a steak though :P

Just tried the oxtail, its coming along quite amazingly. So, I’m hopeful.

I’m actually in the process of attempting sous vide chili right now. I went a totally different route than you though.

I like going for it because it makes the game more complicated than the other victory types. Once you know how to get a cultural, diplomatic religious or whatever victory it seems to be the same thing over and over. At least when I go for domination I will get the world pissed at me so I can fight a multi fronted war.

It seems like trade routes in VI are determined by the number of cities you currently hold, which is why I had such an obscenely high number of routes(I had a ton of cities) where, since you dont play with domination victory in mind, you probably have a pretty small empire.

You are stuck in a rather static time period in them, but I still think it’s worth given em a shot. I really enjoyed the first Rome:Total War (second one was a huge disappointment)

Beyond what? I don’t remember that one.... nope...never happened.

Have you played the Total War games? They seem to be pretty much what you’re looking for.

Which is why I LOVE that they added the clock back to VI. Having that missing from V screwed me up so many times. Oh, its only been like 2hrs at max.....

I played a game on a huge map for my first game and went the route of domination. By the end of up ~400 turns I had 39 trade routes. It was ridiculous.

Seriously. I had my two neighbors declare war on me a total of 5 times in the first 100 turns and then they’d only send a few bs units. Got denounced by every nation before I was even expanding my empire.

“It’s a lot more chilled, so anyone frustrated by their constant happiness handicaps in Civ V will be thrilled with this.”

Un-refrigerated eggs confused the hell outta me when I first moved to Central America. My whole life its been something that was kept in the fridge and now here I am where its literally 105 degrees and there are just flats of eggs laying out like its no big deal. Which I later learned it wasn’t, still, a bit jarring

That’s one of the most impressive optical illusions I’ve seen. Usually you can see the image both ways once you have the solution. I literally can not see this as oily anymore.

I still can’t believe there is no earth map in the default types. I always loved playing that map and trying to test my geography skills in the early game to figure out where the hell I was.
