I've got the push down, to the left, then forward reverse lockout, and I quite like that. It's comforting knowing I can never accidentally slam it into reverse, no matter how hard I try.

Oh god this. I can't drive automatics specifically because of this. I'll be rolling up to a stop, instinctively go for the clutch, slam my left foot on the first pedal I find... and go straight through the windshield.
Grand Rapids represent! Well, Ada, but whatever. Also, am I the only GR Jalop that doesn't drive a Ford?
You must mean Z4, since the roof on the Z3 is manual ;)
It's been on the door in every car I've ever driven.
Yeah, but they haven't even bothered with the fat suit here.
Y'know, at some point it's just a hatchback with a lift kit.
And they're fast! 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, 100mph, carbon fiber monocoque, under 500 lbs. Goes like stink.
Go Green! Formula is where it's at, though ;)
If the passenger doesn't like the radio, well tough shit. Driver picks the tunes. That's the rule.
I'd make a strong argument for a VW GTI (or really any hot hatch). Robbers aren't particularly rich people, so expensive getaway cars aren't really attainable, plus more expensive cars are typically harder to steal. GTIs are cheap and quick enough to get away in but, more importantly, they're based on a common car…
QOTD now needs to be "best getaway cars."
I'm from near Grand Rapids, but I was down for a baseball game probably 3 years ago and then the year after that for the DIA & the Concours D'elegance of America, and I never felt at all uncomfortable downtown. It's really quite a nice place.
This. I've been downtown several times over the past few years and it's great. Really just as nice as any other city. It's the outlying areas that you want to avoid.
I'd love to take ours on a full sized track, if only once to say I did it. But yeah, it is the only race series where the driver's legs are in front of the wheels. Ah well, at least you'd die in an anecdote.
I'm fully aware of what FSAE cars are designed for ;) Plenty of FSAE teams are running aero now, and in the best possible way. Also, unlike other Formula cars, FSAE cars are designed and built with motorcycle engines in mind. If you leave 5th and 6th gear in, you'd have plenty of speed for a full-sized track.
Try a BMW Z3.Can still be had for quite cheap(my dad got his for about $6k with the 4 cylinder), but people see that it's a BMW and a roadster and assume it's worth more than their house.
Haha exactly. We don't see any Polos over here, let alone the GTI. And yup, welcome to the front page of Jalopnik :p There's a lot of bs floating around the front page. Try jalopnik.com/oppositelock/. It's better there!
