The Forester handles better than the GTI. What the fuck, Volkswagen. It also has infinitely better reliability, quicker steering, better comfort, nicer stereo, more headroom, more interior space, AWD, more ground clearance, and no police interest.
With my dad picking up that red ‘85 today, our garage is now officially full of all rear-engined cars. The driveway is now also full, but that’s a different issue.
Janis Joplin’s actual, factual 356. If any of y’all live in Michigan and haven’t made the pilgrimage to the Gilmore Museum, do it! (this was the last day for the 356, but they’ve always got good stuff)
Really milking these last few weeks of shows. This was a pretty good one, had an ASC Mclaren Capri, Beck-Porsche 550 Spyder, and a couple other pics after the jump
Despite the crappy start to the day (lots of rain in the morning), it cleared up by mid-afternoon and I was able to go out and set up along the route. Spotting wasn’t as good today(I blame the weather), but I got to spend all day showing off the Ghia which is always worthwhile.
...just in time for the last event of the season. At least it’s Grand Rapid’s big cruise weekend, so a pretty great time. It’s my first time doing it in the Ghia, and I’m kinda blown away by the amount of love it’s getting. 10/10 will do again.
Because once a project car always a project car. I’ve been replacing my bearings since they’re pretty well shot on the left side, today was wholly dedicated to pounding the stub axle into the inner bearing. Awkward angle + tight fit = slow moving (twss).
My neighbor is cooler than I am (apologies for the poorly-timed loss of aim. I was distracted by the late-model stock car running up and down the street.)
