@dapper_otter: And someone who knows what they're doing is going to be much more careful fixing their own car than someone who knows what their doing fixing someone else's car, which they will likely get paid even more money to fix if their shoddy repair job falls apart and has to be re-repaired.

@jbh11126: K-Mart is often on par with, if not worse than, Wal-Mart, so you could go there, too.

@Hobz: I don't see "taken care of right" and "in someone's garage" as mutually exclusive terms.

@Electro Gyrocator: Does the Konami code stop your transmission from grenading?

@Syrax: Everyone asks that, it's gray, no worries. But yeah, for an abomination against all that is good and holy, it's not half bad.

@maximum-sienna: Being based on the Golf, the mechanical underpinnings of the Beetle actually aren't bad. It's a fairly comfortable car, and the steering wheel has a nice feel, and if you get past the fact you're driving a car for middle-aged women, it's pretty fun. Of course, it's also campy, under-powered, goofy,

@brandegee: Actually, I think he made it in his garage that way.

@Bueller:A car can have all the cylinders it wants under the hood, but that won't help it get around a corner. P=MV, F=MA, and Fr = μN. 3 basic physics equations. I don't see any variable for "engine size," but I see several for mass.

@HandyHank: One would think those would interfere with his ability to work the pedals.

@crankyshaft: I think I heard somewhere they're supposed to be here in 2012, but that could just be a rumor.

@Jo Borras: From what I understand from the comments, it sounds like Ford legally can't do what the key does to the "stock" car, that due to EPA regulations and whatnot, it has to be an aftermarket "track-only" upgrade.

@alextsmith: I'm afraid to report that, yes, it will blend just fine.

@Nick: Funny, the Beetle is the same way. That's one of three upsides to the car, the others being the steering is nice and it's got nice seats.

@alextsmith: Or if his shoelace got caught in the wheels. This was a record attempt, so they were probably titanium shoelaces, and would have sucked his whole body right into the chain.

@Skunky: Forget "rebuild", that thing's practically a stand-alone engine for a Beetle. I'm not sure about reliability, but it's sure got more horsepower.

@Torgen got 99 problems but the PAXFlu ain't one: It has pseudo-interesting "science," in a bar trick/college student kind of way, but the manner in which it is presented is so brutally sophomoric and unintelligent, it really makes the show not worth watching.
