It’s INSANE at Christmas. My daughter’s dance studio danced in the Christmas Parade (an expensive venture, I assure you) there for several years, and one year, we only got to ride 3. Rides. All. Day. WITH the FastPass. It was ridiculous! (Scuttlebutt was that Tweedledum and Tweedledummer were manning the entrance and

I went to Disneyland with my nephews last year (hadn’t been since the one big splash-out trip of my childhood almost 40 years ago). They had an absolute ball, so I can understand the appeal for children...but yeah, I don’t understand adults who seek it out of their own accord.

That said, if I was really into thrill

Going as a childless adult is the best. We did exactly what we wanted to do, went on fun rides, stayed out all day because we could and appreciated the detail and organization on a level that children can’t. We spent a week in Orlando hitting up Disney, Universal and JFK space centre and it was incredible. I’d go

Holy shit, there’s going to be a Toy Story land? Okay I might have to go back...

I went when I was 21 and graduated from college, and it was just easygoing fun. I went with a friend who doesn’t party, and generally like amusement parks like I do. I like the rides and just hanging out. Animal Kingdom was fun and I hadn’t been before. Would I go again? Probably not.

My experience isn’t reflective of everyone else because I live about a 3 hour drive away from Disney, so it’s very accessible to me.

Also, while WDW attendance may be down this year, they’re still basically printing money at their theme parks. The drop may spook shareholders who are looking for constant growth, but the parks have been so profitable that it’d take a huge drop before the profit margin takes a real hit.

This dip in tourism is directly related to the reluctance of Brits and Europeans (now two entities)  to hassle with onerous US visas and the general unpleasantness associated with TSA, and the enormous drop in their currencies against the dollar since last year, making a trip to Florida cost more than it’s worth.

Zika virus. I know more than one lady in the ‘trying for baby #2' phase of life who cancelled a trip to Disney because of the Zika scare. Might explain why the more little kid oriented Disney parks saw decreases in attendance while Universal Studios went up.

What are the odds this asshole thinks Dylan Roof’s actions were an attack on Christianity that had nothing to do with race? Evangelical Christianity is haven for moral cowardice; they will warp the very fabric of reality to avoid having to deal with any conflict between their faith and their belief that they really

And competition is forming in the form of Universal... and overseas clientele hate our current slop pail of a government and aren’t traveling to America...

fewer people in my way at disney parks? good!

California Adventure is actually getting *better*, but yeah, the prices are getting a little out-there.

Disney World is in a strange transition stage right now. There is construction everywhere (Hollywood Studios & resorts) and many people who are interested in going but can’t go every year may be waiting for that to end & for Star Wars Land & Toy Story Land to open in 2019. Even more than that, Universal “stole” some

I find simmering rage and clipped speech a lot more satisfying, frankly. Less post-hoc embarrassment.

I don’t get that train of thought beyond the obviously greedy and psychopathic elements of short term hogging of money. Man, if you think following safety regulations is an expensive drag, just wait until it’s your company associated with something like this. You won’t have a bucket to piss in or a window to throw it

I hope no one is injured if there is a riot. But....I’m not going to spend my time hoping there isn’t a riot, you know.

It seems it may come to pass: the police are preparing the city for possible riots.

I’m kind of shocked at how Theresa May has botched her response to this tragedy. Not meeting the residents of Grenfell tower while your biggest political rival spends the day listening to their concerns in front of cameras?

Deregulation is good for you!
