I’m like an inch too tall for petites. I think you’re right about the shorter rise but I don’t recall exactly because I can’t buy petites either. For me they’re neither long enough for pants nor short enough for cropped.

I sometimes get the too tight in the things/too big in the waist thing (never the length though). But even when the thighs are tight, for me the bottom part of the pants are always flapping around. And I don’t have small calves by any means. Gosh I wish I could afford custom clothing.
