300 miles really isn’t much. It’s a 4 hour trip down the thruway here in NY to get to Albany. Flying that distance would be silly. Same with Buffalo to Detroit. 4.5 hours by car is way better than flying.

When I was out in Wyoming last year driving those distances was your only option. Canada is largely the same way.…

I always wondered in what way GM peed in Jalopnik’s Cheerios to make them so antagonistic against them. Its almost like they have a quota to meet. Today we get a rando article about the nearly 20 year old Pontiac Aztek. Cant let that dead horse get away without a good beating.

Neutral: Range isn’t the issue so much as charging speed. I have a car that takes me 300 miles on a tank of gas and refills in 5 minutes. I could live with an electric that charges in 10 minutes and only gets 200 miles. Or you have to give me an electric that gets 400 miles and fills in an hour.

It all smells fake and disingenuous. Timing stinks, Barra is getting huge bonus, UAW has so much cash they can afford to use it inappropriately, and the damn workers are getting screwed. I think everyone knew this strike was coming and GM planned accordingly.

Yup, people become super dependent on cell phones, which is all well and good in urban areas and along interstates, but you get a few miles away from the interstate (especially in the mountains) and you can’t rely on your phone to guide you.

If you’ve ever been in an area where there is no signal you’ll appreciate a device that has all the maps stored in it and can just grab a satellite signal to position you. Most phones download where you are when you open the app. Also Data limits are a thing for some people. 

My folks have a Garmin I think? They don’t own smartphones and I believe their GPS may update regularly, it somehow gets traffic updates too.

thank you! this is actually my second... i had a 2015 that was wrecked but i agree, they are fine little cars. not without their faults but everything else(fun factor, exhaust note, etc.) makes up for those.

Awesome color! My 2013 is red with black interior. I will probably get blasted for saying this but I have had the car for 4 years now and it has been perfectly reliable. Awesome little car for those who enjoy driving.

They’re such nice little cars, it’s a shame it’s going away. A victim of America’s unnecessary obsession with all things large.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of constantly living with the threat of imminent global destruction hanging over my head!
