20-40 is Ok, but “4th gear” is pointless as the ratios vary wildly to suit the application (gears are basically transposed up or down).

Pure Blood.
Cool. So lower resolution, no depth perception and displaying a tiny fraction of what you can see with a real mirror and moving your head around.
I don’t. 155hp is weak for a 2.0l NA 4. My old Peugeot made stock 167hp 20 years ago with out so much as VVT. My understanding is direct injection has difficulty keeping up with revs (the only way to make power on a small NA engine), which is why the GT86/BRZ uses hybrid port injection. I’m assuming they’ve added…
My dad had a manual 3 door for years. It was quite fun to potter around in, felt like driving a mini truck but with the compactness of a small hatchback. His job involved a lot of dirt and off-road work and it handled that well.
Late merging is actually good.
“The cars aren’t bad at all, to be honest, but they’ve become competent options for people who would normally buy an Accord”
I’m sure if you went back to 1992 and offered an automatic to potential buyers, but instead of being a 4 speed slushbox, it had more ratios than a manual, could shift faster (with hi-tech paddles on the wheel!) - was “faster” than a manual, auto sales would have dominated then too.
Yeah looking at the concept, not sure how they’d fit a flat-4 plus radiator etc in front of the axles. Big overhangs are just a necessity of the Subaru drivetrain layout, and more evident now they need to add more bulk there for pedestrian safety.
The roofline/a-pillars are a lot like the original gt86 concept from way back when.
I think they look pretty neat ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yeah I’m hoping someone will offer some smooth blanking plates that can be body-matched. I’d probably get the side vents matched too.
Why is it you see so few sports cars in rally? Is it a class/rule phenomenon or are small FWD hatchbacks just better at hurtling down imperfect country roads?
“The Accent has a torsion-beam rear suspension handling isn’t going to rival sports cars”
“Great deals can be had if you don’t care about what you get”
Looks cool but I dearly wish manufacturers would stop adding automatic rev-matching on manual cars. The whole point of a manual these days is to do it yourself - even if optional it makes the car more poseur-ish, leave it to the DCTs. Give it a nice light fly wheel with no rev-hang and some proper pedal spacing and be…
PDK is more in keeping with VAG brand image. They always want a bit of extra refinement/tech to go along with the performance. The 4C (and new Alpine) are relatively stripped back, lightweight, “pure” sports cars. Like an MX-5, they have a character that would appeal strongly to the type of driver who prefers manual…
When will the luddites give their dinosaur manual’s up?
Sorry some how commented on the wrong post..
“As people grow hair on their balls and grow wiser they move on from FWD which is true, even in the case of a pre-pubescent bitch like you. :-D”
