Not exactly a libertarian here, but if you put freaking "U.S. Economy" branded oil in perhaps the second most expensive and highest maintenance thing you ever own or buy, you sort of deserve what you get. Caveat emptor and whatnot.

I don't know, it could have been a fluke. For real scientific integrity you'll need a bigger sample size. At least a few thousand Sunfires should be tested. As many Sunfires as we can gather.
See now THIS is how you handle a recall. You catch it early enough before it costs people lives and money.
