Built on a Chevrolet Impala chassis...
Professional racing...and duct tape
The fender stripes should only be on the left
This is fairly joyous news though I still refuse to get my hopes up for what I really want: removable roof, two doors, legit off-road performance as you stated.
Get a last-model-year LS400 for 1/10th of your budget and put the rest in a mayonnaise jar.
Dad had a 93 F-Super Duty rollback with the IDI. Never failed to start but was impossible to go over 65. Just no grunt at all.
Those pre-turbo 7.3's were absolute turds.

It’s like saying a Navigator isn’t a rebadged Expedition because it has unique glass and body panels (that was Ford’s old argument at least)
Was not aware of that. There’s hope for it yet.
I don’t doubt it will be pricey but it won’t be another crossover, that’s certain.
Pretty sure they did. When I first read it, it prety much said “Bronco is coming for reals this time. Updating.”
A small diesel will make its way over. Euro Focuses (Foci?) already get diesels built on the Duratec architecture and the USDM Transit has a diesel option though I’ve never seen anyone buy it.
Blame General Motors and their 350 diesel.
It’s actually a very good SUV and what the crossover Explorer should have been.
“Is it going to look like the render?”
I would be interested. I’m shopping now for a 2007-2014 Expedition with enough miles to justify a Coyote swap in a year or two.
