That IMO is a good possibility. I think a lot of people are getting less keen on the idea of having Turkey in NATO.

I am not sure I would want to invest in a low altitude 3 engine jet that will melt its tail off with its unnecessary afterburners

You make an interesting point. I really doubt many NATO countries are going to want to step in and sacrifice themselves to save a wildcard like Erdogan. A lot of people dislike him.

I take everything India with a few truckloads of salt. They are the ones who’s Air Force flies so many airplanes that aren’t airworthy. And their license built flanker engines are terrible. According to what I have read, they buy bottom dollar and rarely maintain. I would not doubt if the missiles they bought just sat

Yah, if the U.S. Had info that confirmed the airplane was shot in Turkey, then I am sure that they would have published it by now

Because the U.S. Isn't completely full of shit when it comes to foreign policy...

The only people who say crime doesn't pay are the ones that have committed the crimes that payed, it like how people with all the money say money isn't everything, they are trying to keep it a secret!

If we both get terminally ill at the same time, you will go to the NATO base in Poland, I will go to the Russian base and we will find out once and for all:

I noticed it says Marine Crops at one part, I take it your computer is taking autocorrect hints from my phone.

It is amazing how people use technicalities. I believe (at least for a while) both sides were using Chlorine artillery in Ukraine as well. Thankfully that seems to have mostly fizzled out

He chlorine gassed his people during the Arab Spring, I am not sure how many died, but I am sure there are several thousand Turks that can't breath properly anymore

Which explains why we bomb ISIS and run guns to their allies who give them the guns.

Yah, and we know Turkish planes have previously ventured over the border to shoot down Syrian aircraft that had previously strayed. I remember the Mi-8 that got shot down after it had ventured across for about .25 mile about 10 minutes prior to the shoot down.

How would you know if it saw you? Shoot at it and see if it shoots back?

I forget, but it's a good sized nuke iirc

Missile radar? I am thinking you are thinking Radar Warniv Reciever, or RWR. However, an RWR is useless against an IR guided missile

Yah, they are the ultimate in my love of biplanes. The one I saw has the Original engine that the An-2 had reverse engineered.

Ah, I thought you were talking about something that had happened in the current century with the current government

That’s what I am thinking. It looks like the wings were ruptured and trailing fuel as well as engines knocked out, so AIM-9 seems really likely

From the damage to the plane I could see from the pictures, it definitely looked like it had been hit by a heat seeker.
