Well, the F-35 has one of the hottest burning engines on the market and the Su-35 has an IRST. But one scenario I saw a while back was that the Su-35 has a movable radar. It can guide its missiles towards the F-35 while flying away at an angle, robbing the AIM-120s of speed and range, while the F-35 has to be flying

I would like it to be mounting a camera in the R-27. That would be awesome perspective.

I am worried that one could easily sink from natural causes in a “hot” area and the NK blame it on SK. There own poor maintenance and training could easily cause a massive war.

Exactly. I get annoyed when people give credit to the Abrams over the crews in the landslide victory against the Iraqis. I bet you the numbers would have looked pretty much the same if the Iraqis had Abrams and the Americans were using T-72s. There is no substitute for good training.

A truck like this really won’t stop even when hit. If it is near it’s target, you are pretty much SOL to stop it.

True, but it is still well within range of long range cruise missiles. One of the primary reasons why I doubt things will heat up, even without nukes it is still a pretty dramatic loss for all parties involved. I highly doubt many people would have much of a military just from missiles alone.

I love how people think Russia is so evil for supporting the separatists in Ukraine, arming extremists if you will, when the U.S. has done and continues to do this more than anyone else.

Crimea was strategically important. I am shocked that didn’t return to Russia back in the 90’s. The rest of Ukraine is at no risk. Russia flat out refuses to allow the rebellion in eastern Ukraine to join, sure they give them help, but they are more interested in having them as a buffer.

I would say they should have never scrapped the Naval F-22 or the FB-22 as well and built those.

Good point. It would be foolish to give away the F-22’s radar profile for a small increase in tension that will probably be forgotten in 2 years.

It wouldn’t be F-22 vs Su-27, it would be KH-55 vs F-22’s hanger. That's how warfare works.

What if it attacks Australia? The lost a War with Emus! How can they defend against a Kaiju?

I am looking to buy soon and one of my prerequisites is no HOA. It is better here in AZ than in Colorado where I lived for a few years. In some areas near Denver, you would even have overlapping HOAs.

Or the “we need to increase everyone’s rates so we can “fix” these issues”. We had an old HOA where some people were caught pocketing the money

They need to just both go to the HOA instead of trying to solve the loud music complaints themselves.

We are talking bout about interception as in the kind of interception like over the Baltic where typically an Su-27 will go up and meet a NATO aircraft, not where a Mig-31 is scrambled to shoot down a bomber or AWACS. The former has not happened in a long time, the latter almost every day.

Explain to me why you would carry a medium/long range AAM for intercepting?

Well, since airplane manufacturers (mainly Boeing and Dassault) seem to be calling their aircraft stealth, I guess this fits as well in its own way. I think it will have radar absorbent material, but not the shaping.

What a weird era.

For intercepting you don’t carry a BVR missile. the same reason you don't use JDAMs to intercept. Wrong tool for the job.
