Basically the detailed ledger is still there, but adding a checksum that requires the prior ledgers checksum just means its easy to verify that the ledger hasnt been edited after the fact. Thats the simplest i can ever explain blockchain, I think its accurate.

You NYCers and your feckless, worthless mayor created the hellscape you live in; deal with it.

This is New York.... Not a place for people to wander about in the street.

So someone jumps in front of your vehicle to stop you with their bicycle and their body while someone else tries to break out your windows (which you can clearly see in the video) and you don’t think flooring it and getting out of there is a good idea? I’m sorry he hit someone, but it’s completely understandable.

There

For what it’s worth, this is par for the course with the lion’s share of vehicular accidents in NYC. I don’t know if it should make anybody feel better or worse, but I don’t think it was a politically-motivated decision to let the driver go. The NYPD does this with almost every crash involving a pedestrian or biker,

The benefit of of having reclusive hobbies and a good job is that this is mainly justification for not having to go places I didn’t want to anyway, including work most days. Only downside is since I can telework but also have a 1 year old at home I have no idea what “extra free time” people are talking about. Between

I dunno. The amount of money is irrelevant. I learned something about how cars are delivered, and about how a stupid criminal got caught. That’s pretty good for Jalopnik.

that is what the government should be doing to support the economy in a crisis.”

PPP loans won’t need to be paid back if used for payroll related expenses and if they maintained headcount.

Yeah, while I may not be a fan of dealerships and their practices generally, I don’t have any issue with this. They’re businesses that employ workers, plain and simple.

When you floor a Fit, time slows and you go back in time.

Neutral:
To begin, I don’t want to pick on Erik, but I have many questions:
1. What happens when you floor a Fit?
1.a. Are BQE onramps exceptionally long?
1.b. Or, are Fits really that slow?
2. What would happen to Erik if he got into a “fast car”?
2.a. Is the catharsis because this car is his baby?
2.b. Is it the car or

1st Gear: I can’t decide if this is supposed to be a bad thing? I mean, we all like to shit on the “stealerships”, but when you realize that most of them have very few employees, many working on comission, sitting on millions in inventory they can’t sell and razor-thin margins - I feel like that’s exactly what these

Volvo doesn’t count as it’s a Swedish make that has already been in the United States for over 60 years and just happens to have a Chinese parent company. The article refers to Chinese car companies on the whole, that to date only exist over there.

If we still had COTD, this would be it.

Even if a Chinese brand was able to cut $4-6K off the price, I’d probably sooner just purchase a used Rav4, rather than taking the plunge with a Chinese brand.

That first sentence if very much a ‘if you’re not guilty, then you have nothing to worry about’ statement. And I can do things to mitigate the cell phone in my pocket and my internet traffic. It’ll never be 100%, but that doesn’t mean that you should just throw up your hands and give it all away.

You get a call five minutes after reading The Morning Shift. It’s someone with a British accent you can’t understand because they’re also crying, and they tell you that you are now in charge of Jaguar Land Rover. What should you do?

1st: I’m hesitant to buy an American made vehicle right now with all the technology they can use to collect personal data and such. I’m sure as hell not going to buy a Chinese made vehicle.
