I don’t give any of Gizmoto’s sites very much credit as a legitimate journalism source, with the exception of the generally non-political Jalopnik, Life Hacker and The Takeout.

Image is everything, isn’t it?

People who cannot even afford a used car is a different discussion that goes beyond the various car buying strategies. Factors around education, career decisions, personal financial decisions at a micro level and life choices around who they associate with are what need to be addressed before they focus on what car

Most people that rotate through cars in 2 - 3 years are doing a lease, but there are still people out there that believe car ownership, even short term, is more comfortable. Most people that I know purchase new vehicles every 4 to 5 years.

That’s true, but if you plan on replacing the vehicle every 2 to 3 years, you are not eating as much depreciation. Unless the used car loan is at an insane rate or last longer than a highway project, the depreciation savings is probably more than the additional interest difference of a used car loan.

The police unfortunately didn’t catch her on the road. The local police rarely take enforcement action on DUI unless they catch the person in the act.

It can be feel good event. Saw a woman back into a car in a parking lot. I wasn’t close, but the woman then goes flying past me. Got several good pics of her SUV and though she was holding her hand in front of her face, it was obvious when the police pulled her DVM photo, she was driving.

Good post.  Explains a lot.

You would think by now there’d be a thriving aftermarket for Tesla skid plates to fit over the vulnerable battery packs.

Here is how the statement from Sonic Corp should have been written to be more accurate.

Doubtful. This change in paying the employees wasn’t just something that the new owners thought up. That’s not how most franchise operations are contracted. I expect that the franchise owner isn’t changing. I expect instead of “new management”, they are reopening under “new management directives”.

I define it scientifically. None of this “I feel like, therefore I am” soft social’ science.

Observant, aren’t you.

Mr Tracy I presume?

The mechanical engineers won the bet they made with the programmers.

In that way, they are sort of the Marisa Tomei of the car world.

The Journey is the vehicle that you end up with when you come into the dealership with an underwater car and announce that you want something new, have too many kids for your Chrysler 200, but have no money.

In motion makes it even more apparent that he’s been overdosing on CGI Botox.

Not my style. I don’t buy into that faux manhood. You either got or you don’t. However, Disturbed’s remake of Sound of Silence is pretty good.

They are hardly what I consider threats.
