This is the attitude that is killing Nintendo for me..the kids they are after are playing much cheaper games on their pcs or phones..they don’t give a fuck about Nintendo because they have no nostalgia for mario/zelda etc. This is just another example of a huge mistake.. kids don’t give a fuck about nintendo, the

But they still willingly helped fund an M rated game. I don’t see a “family values” company doing that. Before voice chat was even a thing? So do you want to go back to those days of not being able to easily communicate with teammates? Voice chat is the fastest and easiest way to do that. Like it or not, voice chat is

It’s the reasoning of the modern age. Hate technology that provides options, even if they’re easy to turn off. It’s gotta be simple and non-offensive for everybody.

Why do anything non-essential ever, then? That’s a poor way to look at things, IMO. It’s the same thinking that had kept them in the online gaming dark ages for so long.

You and the Splatoon director, are mistaking your personal, anecdotal evidence as proof that all voice chat in games is negative. Do you play all multiplayer games? Have you ever played a game where there hasn’t been that bullshit? It’s not all black and white like it’s being made out to be.

so now you’d need an external program to even have a chance at a level playing field?

What about friend chat? Surely they can't be protecting us from our own acquaintances...

1) If they’re a family company then why do they release games like Bayonetta 2?

4) Nintendo doesn’t want to treat their customers like adults who can make decisions for themselves.

^Correct answer.

This is effectively letting the toxic people dictate what features are included in a game. Communication features shouldn’t be removed because some people might be dicks. Include a mute option for that but don’t remove the feature entirely. Also having another method to voice chat external from the game is not a

Exactly this. Why not just friends list? Why not opt-in? Instead, let's just throw the baby out with the bath water. +1 my friend.

What about teabagging? I find that more annoying/immature than voice chat.

The saddest part about this is how people like Joe gets attacked when they make this positions public, because Nintendo always gets a free pass.

“However, not every Nintendo game qualifies for it, and Mario Party 10 currently doesn’t.”
