If they had any spine, they would have gone with The Batman Who Laughs instead of vanilla Joker. Riskier move, but fits the universe better.

There’s kind of an off tone here. The premise seems to be that maybe people only liked Borderlands because they were immature and young and now they are old and seasoned and won’t? I guess that works if you assume that the player was X age (maybe your age?) when they first started playing but now they have “been to a…
Once when I was about to beat somebody at Magic: the Gathering Online, he went on an antisemitic rant about how he was going to “kill all the Jews at Wizards of the Coast.”
This is pretty great. I wish they had listed the characters’ names/what they’re from, though. I probably recognized 30% of them, but I’d love to see side-by-sides of the rest with the character they were playing.
(slow clap) way to make this tragedy about you.
When I got a Switch, I thought I’d never use it handheld - I mean, who would want to play something as gorgeous as Breath of the Wild on a small, low res screen, which I’ve got a huge TV? But in actual practice, I’ve probably used it docked less than 10% of the time, because it’s the perfect console to play when…
When you say “shooter,” do you mean FPS, or Shoot ‘Em Up? Two very similar terms for two very different genres!
I’m still wondering what happened to “Castleroid” (the combination of the other two halves). Back in the day, I used to hear both terms fairly equally, but today, “Castleroid” has all but fallen out of existence.
Cool. Gonna start calling them Metro Android Castle Transylvanias now instead.
The vernacular is established, and will remain until people no longer find it useful. You’re fighting this fight about 15 years too late.
Then I request that all of Kinja stop using the word “stan” to describe a crazy fan, which is already short for fanatic. I know it’s from an Eminem song, but as I am unfamiliar with the root meaning, then I don’t think it should be said as it is meaningless to me.
Agree to disagree.
Unlike the US, Japanese executives don’t make a huge amount of money and they do sometimes take pay cuts for the company. Iwata cut his salary by half when the company wasn’t doing well so that they wouldn’t have to do any layoffs.
He could have all the lost knowledge of the Great Library of Alexandria at his disposal and it wouldn’t matter one iota since the indolent and pathologically uncurious slug will never process a new piece of information again in his corpulent life.
There’s nothing in it for him to apologize. He’d have to break character, and that character made him rich. It’s not like anyone who is outraged by this is going to subscribe if he says he regrets what he did.
I appreciate your candor and putting it into a professional context, because we (I?) often don’t remember that journalism is a job. There are days you write stories that surprise, illuminate, or give a new perspective... and there are days you just report on whats going on and log off on time.
The part that seems…
“I’ve just wanted be a streamer for the longest time, it’s always been my dre...” YOU’RE FUCKING 12!
suits kill everything. that’s why we bury people in suits, you know.
Charlie and Annalee were the soul of io9. The void they left was never filled.
Jesus, that sounds like a personal nightmare. I fucking hate working for cult like mentality at any office. It’s so creepy, weird, and college stunted. I have to see people for 8 hours. When I am done I am fucking done. I don’t want to have to see you again until whatever time I get in.
