I don’t think it’s very fair to include insurance/registration/maintenance costs in the equation. If you own any car, you’re going to have to deal with these things on some level, so, unless the alternative to the NSX is to not own a car at all, there’s no real point in including these.

That’s what I’d figure too. I realized that I did not put down a replacement transmission either. The RB transmissions aren’t weak by any standard, but going more than two times higher than factory output will strain any OEM component, and aftermarket transmissions aren’t cheap. I know the Getrag 6-speed sequentials

$60K is one helluva budget, especially if you are inclined to build a car. I’m lazy, and I’m not going to make a part list (so, sorry in advance), but start with a 180SX/240SX, and use the remaining $55K to build an engine. For that kind of money, I suspect you could hit a kilowatt of power (either using an RB25, or,

It took these guys longer to make this than it did for the Siege hype-train to completely grind to a halt, which is sad.

As a Hawks fan, our pregame conclusion was basically “If AP gets more than 100 yards, we are going to lose, period. If he doesn’t, we’ll win”.

*signed* Hey man, 3/4 ain’t that bad.

I was under the impression that the score mattered too...but, I mean, a good dog never hurt.

I assume that’s 4.2 turbo, right? I mean, if you took a 3.3 to 4.2, that’s a pretty big OC...at least, as far as I know. Assuming the former, I mean, a 4790 idles at 4.0, giving me lots of room for OC (to use your CPU as an example, you OC’d it by +13.5%. If you OC a 4790 that much, and I do math right, you end up

Agree with the problem, disagree with the solution. For a solution, I personally look to racing. And when I look to racing, one configuration stands out (in my mind): The 2.0L

[insert completely useless and unnecessary “I wonder what $kay will come up for on this one guys!” comment here]

“...is all you need.” Yeah, today.

If I was building a full machine on a budget of, say, $900 (wink-wink), I would agree with you. I think, unfortunately for my wallet, I’ve moved past that. Time again to build a behemoth. I want something that will perform well enough for 3-5 years (like my current CPU. It’s an AMD, which I regret, but it does play

I’m not an expert at the specifics of CPUs, but it would appear that the fastest i5* is 3.5GHz, boosted to 3.9GHz. The i7 I’m looking at** is 4.0Ghz, and boosts to 4.4Ghz. It also has a bigger Cache.

Yep. I’m in the market too. I bought my first SSD a few months back. Shortly after setting it all up, my 460 grenaded, and I (had to save money until eventually I) upgraded to a 970. CPU/Mobo/RAM are up next. I will not be making the mistake of going AMD again. I’m looking at the i7-4790K. Gonna be saving for a few

Seems funny, if unsurprising, that games in the “biggest disappointment” category are almost exclusively sequels. I’d be willing to bet that in almost every one of them is the direct sequel to one of the best games in the series too (again, no surprise there).

As a “not the world’s biggest Fallout fan, but did enjoy New Vegas and, like everybody, was at least a bit hyped for Fallout, e.g. every Bethesda release” kind of guy...

Wow! I just ran the numbers and, assuming the average person eats, say, 7 bags of Jack Link’s Original Beef Jerky a day, $14 million would buy enough Jerky for 322.5 years! Fantastic!

I’m not in love with the look of the Consumer version (though it’s not an ugly car by any means), but the Nismo GTRs tend to look pretty good when they are decked out for racing.

Doesn’t Aston ownership come with a lifetime caviar-of-the-week subscription? Seems pretty immodest if you ask me.

The 911 is a good choice, as they’ve remained largely unchanged since the first one was engineered by Spanish Conquistador Alonso de Alvarado way back in 1542
