UGH. I was in a relationship with a interracial man for about 4 years (he was ostensibly black to some of my college acquaintances). I can't tell you the amount of comments I got from people I only somewhat knew about how I "like them dark" or something about big dicks. NO ACTUALLY I'M IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM…
"her motivations almost entirely obscured from (at least my) view"
All I want for my birthday is for Emma Thompson to get drunk and take off her shoes. I feel like I could write poetry about how much I love this woman.
Exactly this! I mentioned this in my second comment because I felt sorry for her A LOT in the last scene with the female marine. I honestly felt that the female marine was being unfair and Claire was being victimized again.
Just adding another reason I love the show. I think to have a women who is so awful and still be sympathetic and even likable (I mean in a deliciously evil sort of way, not in a real life sort of way) is revolutionary. I actually felt empathetic towards her at the end after she meets with the female marine. This kind…
I get why people don't like her as a person, she isn't a good one. But this scene was revolutionary for television and also feminist. I wish Jezebel would do an article on the scene (SPOILER ALERT) where she is talking to Frank about her rape and says that she strangles her younger self everyday to keep from that girl…
Ugh! What a sexist interview.
Great comment! I read half way down and I was all Richard Sherman! Then you said it.
This is a really interesting comment. I've heard about the idea that black women dating outside of the black community is somehow a moral failing (hello sexism). Do you have any idea of what the foundation is for applying this to women and not so much to men? We have a family friend (black woman) who married a white…
I was just reading this. Is this standard for murder trials, that 2nd degree charges yield a smaller jury? How does that make sense? Historical context?
I totally agree with the obvious racism in the legal system, but Dunn wasn't found not guilty. It was a mistrial because the jury couldn't agree whether it was first or second degree murder.

I really don't see how that comment made this site an unsafe place. Sex is a large part of this site and discussed freely all the time.
You are on fire tonight!!!!! Yeah!
Really, I'm going to say that rape is an extreme act of violence. Stop right there.
THIS.
God yes. That tumblr makes me so angry. They take things totally out of context. Don't they have something better to do? Plus, there are plenty of people saying and doing problematic things, just cite those.
Really, Kanye? Fur slippers?
It was also the sam reasoning to keep women out of running until the 1940s.
