Nonono. The worst thing ever was probably the Mongol conquest of Khwarezmia from 1219 to 1221.

I mean, it was not originally the intention of the Mongol Empire to invade the Khwarezmid Empire. According to the Persian historian Juzjani, Genghis Khan had originally sent the ruler of the Khwarezmid Empire, Ala ad-Din

The military experiment was the explanation of why it was happening. Also the mist was dissipating and the army was having no trouble cleaning the area out.

Goddamn dammit! Can we abandon this trend of pre-trailer-fast-cuts of the trailer we’re about see? It got old almost immediately.

Can’t wait for Atari to make their big comeback.

Yeah, the end of the film could not have been worse.

Exactly. The characters don’t hear the orchestral score either, and no one ever complains about hearing the soundtrack “in space”!

As to sound in space movies: Who the hell say’s that it’s diegetic sound? That is, sound heard by the characters? Maybe that’s just put in there for our benefit.

People tend to compare him to Carl Sagan, and say “He’s the heir to Sagan’s legacy” but they fail to notice that Sagan was all about inspiring people, while Tyson is all about chastising them.

I’m going to call. I’ve got an entire hand of Omega.

I agree that Alien3 is underrated. I actually like it, as a stand alone horror film. I just don’t consider it part of the Alien franchise.

“Prometheus” sucked from scene one and never got better. The opening scene is eye candy and makes no sense to the rest of the film. Actually, ‘makes no sense’ sums up everything done to the “Alien” franchise post “Aliens.”

So essentially, Ridley Scott muscled Neill Blomkamp out of fixing the Alien series with Alien 5 and has pooped out another bad movie instead?

Alien: Covenant gets rid of everything good about Prometheus

The weirdest thing is... Clifford kind of had a point.

I’m just going to go ahead and assume one of two things here:

It does pay...in spades. Everyone should strive for excellence, that’s not a “white” value it’s a human value. Speaking properly without give-away intonations, expressions and speech patterns which allow people to automatically discriminate against you before they even see you is important. It will certainly get you

Oh that is really unbelievably bad.

at some point IO9 went from a site for nerds to nerd out over stuff to a site where hipster elitests hate on everything.
