If Alicent is sleeping with any Targaryen in this series so far, it’s Raenarys.

You’re both wrong. She died in childbirth but wasn’t really pregnant.
It’s early, but one of the things that’s a bit concerning is that the way they’re filling in the outline here hasn’t really worked yet.
I miss the days of Newbie and Expert reviews for GoT on the AV Club, because they would actually, ya know, review and analyze the show and were written by people who had a clear interest in the material they were tasked with reviewing. If this is all we’re getting then what reason do I have to come here after I…
(though I was fighting for my life against a spider for most of the episode, so I could’ve missed it)
That was the woman from Devs? You coulda given me a thousand guesses and I never would’ve realized that.
I haven’t seen Matt Smith’s work, but facially, he seems miscast.
I did not care for the ending of this season. I feel like they are telling us that sentient life can’t survive but not effectively showing us that. I guess a generous assessment is that all of the strong characters besides Dolores had to be cleared off the board for any long term human/host survival to be possible. S…
A bunch of nitpicking:
Whelp, as predicted we got our drama filled finale, and hey, I even got a couple of things right.
Yeah, I don’t get the hate in the comments. I’m enjoying the twists, totally consistent with the history of the show. That’s the way Westworld rolls. Gene Wolfe wrote in Claw of the Conciliator, “That we are capable only of being what we are remains our unforgivable sin.” If you don't like the way WW transpires don't…
Agree with you about 3x01. It felt like a movie - while watching I thought “Oooh, this is giving me sequel-to-Ex-Machina-vibes, and I’m liking it so far”. Like I said, I watched all of season 3 over one weekend just last month. I can see how, for those who were watching it live when it aired, the goodwill generated by…
I know I’m going to take heat for this, but I’ve never felt Aaron Paul was that great of an actor to begin with—-even in Breaking Bad. This series, he’s been extremely one dimensional as you pointed out. I just don’t get anything from his performance.
God, some of the dialog in this feels like it was picked up in bulk at the local Cliche-o-Mart. Caleb, talking about his time in the Russian civil war: “It was anything but civil.”
Sometimes reviewers get stuck and keep writing about the show they think it should be, not the show it actually is. Exhibit A: Nathin Rabin’s 30 Rock reviews before the Kinjapocalype.
Yeah, I don’t get, three seasons in, how Handlen is still looking for the show to spell out exactly who we’re supposed to be rooting for. It’s not that kind of show. It’s never been that kind of show.
I have no issue with no investigation in the world they’ve built. Dead private security for a Corp would just get swept under the rug by that same Corp. What bugs me is the inconsistency in how durable hosts are and how capable combatants they are. The “awoken” hosts like Armistice, Hector, Teddy, Dolores, etc. will…
This episode is a contender for best episode in the entire run.
I believe my exact reaction was EVIL DEREK!
