Have you thought about dual booting your Mac? I run OSX and Windows 7 on mine. I use OSX as my main OS, but I boot into Windows for those Windows-only required times.
I used to, but turned it off because I got sick of hearing hundreds of notifications a day. Being able to turn on a notification for a specific email threads is awesome.
Its for those who DONT have notifications on for email (and check manually). So if you're waiting on something important, you can have it notify you if someone responds to that specific thread.
