Well said and that’s how so many game adaptations go wrong. They keep having action scenes mirroring the game, but what is necessary in a game to keep the player engaged comes across as numbing and tiresome when too frequently done in something you’re just sitting back and watching.

It reminded me of Ingmar Bergman’s movie “Cries and Whispers”. It’s a really grim movie about a woman dying of cancer and how her family deals with it (or doesn’t). Unlike this episode it’s a far bleaker outlook with a family that is much more dysfunctional than Bill and Frank.

This makes rickrolling seem delightful

Lots of exciting changes in your life. I’m looking forward to reading your future writing. Best of luck and have fun!

Yeah I’m trying mastodon out and liking it so far. Still lots to learn.

Yeah that was a real “Wait he said WHAT?!?!” moment for me. Beginning of the rapid slide of my estimation of him from “does cool things with tech” to “immature” to “sociopath with dangerous amounts of money”.

Didn’t read or anticipate this game much beforehand and was surprised how much I have had so far playing this. A few of these criticisms match mine, especially how fussy the interact prompt can be, which can be especially frustrating when on a timed mission. And, yeah, the combat is at its simplest and most boring in

While perusing Steam discussions on GK yesterday one of the few things garnering praise was their decision (as it was thought at the time) to remove Denuvo. But, no, that was just a mistake and it’s back in place. This studio is sabotaging itself left and right.

Netflix has been developing an HZD-based series and that may have something to do with the decision to polish the old game. If the TV series comes out that could drive a new round of sales in both HZ games.

Yup, that was exactly my take for “what happened long agoafter about 30 minutes of play.

I was surprised to learn there was another game called ‘Prey’, it had totally escaped my attention at the time. When I saw the new Prey announced I bought it after reading the positive reviews. I’m rather surprised that gamers who were savvy enough to know about the original Prey weren’t also savvy enough to check out

I’ve seen game reviews from them cropping up occasionally over the last year or two. They’re usually a little on the lightweight/easygoing side but a quick read and well-written. They’re not in my usual rotation of gaming sites but if I see one of their reviews crop up I’ll usually check it out.

This is so true. I’m in my 60's so old enough to have seen this sort of cycle come and go.

Whenever I’ve tried to play some game with an elaborate 3d world or great graphics on mobile I just can’t get pulled in on the small screen like I can on TV or monitor. Like you and some other commenters I end up just playing puzzle/match 3/card/word games that don’t suffer from the limited viewing area.

I suspect that’s true. Many quests will say ‘collect 5 of this’ and yet when you pick up 1 of the desired object it will say ‘ok done’.

Just finished HW for the first time a few days ago and loved it. He was a major part of it. RIP Stephen Critchlow....

That’s the aspect of this that bothers me the most. Quite depressing.

Yes, they did know. People magazine was running stories on the accusations against Cosby as far back as 2006. It was not an insider secret or something. I remember “jokes” about Cosby and quaaludes WAY back.

Yup. Here’s a story in People magazine from 2006 talking about it. It was widely known as far back as 2005 and 2006.

I played it for a couple hours and came away ‘meh’ feeling about the whole thing, but at the same time I felt it could develop into something fun if they refined it in the right direction so made a mental note to keep track of it.
