If they win, they can control any movie, game, show, etc that even has a Humvee in it. It will also open up a precedent for other manufacturers (JEEP!) to file suits as well. You know how TV shows blur out product logos for non sponsors? Imagine movies/shows that either have to pay royalties or have to blur out…

That’s kind of the point. There is all this mystery surrounding the white walkers, what they want, why they are here and why they are suddenly moving to wipe out humanity. We can guess at the answers, but they are largely undefined threads in their story.

As always, it’s about money. They don’t own it, so they don’t want to pay for it anymore. Instead they can replace him with someone that has no control and doesn’t own any part of it.
