The only one who I could’ve seen them writing in as a Trump voter was maybe Luanne but then having her realize how dumb the whole thing was. The rest of the characters are generally socially conservative but have always come across as completely apolitical.

I always interpreted one of Dale’s last lines on the show as him subtly acknowledging to Nancy that he always knew. It was too random of a thing for him to bring up for it to just be a throwaway line.
Dale Gribble would never vote for Trump and I’m sick of people online saying he would.
Not for political reasons. Dale doesn’t vote. The government having access to his address? Get the fuck outta here.
I also had no idea Joseph was originally voiced by Brittany Murphy (pre-puberty) - for the whole 1st through 4th seasons! I knew she did Luanne, but had no idea she was also Joseph...
I often think of the line “I make a good point.” His delivery is just perfect:
The fact that he thought he was so smart and ahead of everyone but didn’t recognize Joseph was John Redcorn’s son captured the character perfectly.
SNW is fantastic, Picard S3 is great, Lower Decks is phenomenal, Prodigy was awesome.
Some of what modern Trek has done is taking risks, like a goofy adult animated comedy or a kid’s show, or all the stuff they did with Discovery. Not all of it works, but those are definitely breaking out of the mold set by the previous series and movies.
Star Wars’ downfall (to me) is its black-and-white worldview. The dualistic nature of The Force permeates everything - and makes it shallow and stale. Empire or Rebels (in all its permutations, New Republic, Remnant, whatever, it’s stale). Dark Side, Light Side. Jedi or Muggle (I forget the technical term).
Nooooo everyone must somehow be related to characters you’ve heard of
The secret of Superman’s secret identity is the lack of the mask.
There was a Guardian article that tallied up all the wage increases being requested, and it came up to like $500 million. Compared to over $200 billion in profit across the industry, that equates to half a percent. That’s all the hit in profits they’d need to take in order to end the strikes.
I thought so. It’s gotta be Lex.
I mean, I kinda disagree with the thesis here — Clark/Superman isn’t being ignored at all, he’s very much the main character, and it’s an extremely charming portrayal of him (although, of course, “extremely charming” describes everyone and also the show itself). Clark’s getting a lot of deserved praise for his himbo…
I don’t love the animation style, and it seemed a weird choice for me that Chris Parnell is... Deathstroke?! But I gotta say... I never really realized how well-suited Chris Parnell’s voice was to playing an anime villain. Really kinda works.
Why does it say ‘Former Pro Cyclist’ and not ‘Well Known Horrible Cheater’ or ‘Got Rich Hustling Stupid Rubber Bracelets’?
After watching the first three episodes on Max, I realized that this is the kind of Superman dynamic that has been sorely lacking since Superman II. I find myself smiling through every episode.
He said, as comedy movie Barbie now tracks 1 billion dollars...
