I’d personally do a half-an-LS swap. There’s a huge aftermarket for Ecotec swaps. Get a supercharged eco out of a wrecked Cobalt SS and a manual tranny out of a Colorado (or Sky/Solstice). They’re good for about 230hp but are all aluminum and quite reliable.

Many many many modern turbo cars use plastic intake manifolds and they hold up fine. Just saying.

A top fuel car would be hard to beat with an electric setup, I think. To get the same HP (over 10,000!) in a package that small and light would be near impossible. But a top fuel engine runs on the edge of possibility, so who knows?

Exactly. I really want to know how people are stealing these cars. You either need the actual key, or a tow truck. Hot wiring doesn’t work on modern cars. I don’t see how anyone is driving away in one. Unless I’m missing something?

The biggest reason is the price, but not because “It’s cheap!”. The price allows for the common person (yes $60k is still the rich end of common) to be able to afford a crazy supercar. It’s a body style that’s no longer reserved for the exotics. They’re going to make a million of them. They will get even cheaper on…

I don’t think so. Because it’s not really fake if you’re actually controlling the car with a clutch pedal. It’s more than just a manual mode selector or a set of paddles.
