anal bead cheating controversy
Except he ended up winning in court, had the ban overturned, and was actually paid €15k less than six months later.
At least now we know that he did, in fact, live to see 24.
OK Mr. Bacon we’ll see your daughter’s movie
“Bacon is onscreen in nearly every scene”
I agree with your fix completely, but I’d run the sprint on Friday, quali on Saturday and the race on Sunday. And yes, the sprint grid should be a reverse grid based on the driver’s championship. Although I’d prefer (I know it’ll never happen) a reverse grid based on the constructor’s championship. Leave it to the…
You cheat at chess by getting computer assistance from a chess engine.
BAM you nailed it. Well done breakdown of the situation. Magnus isn’t a bad sport- he’s lost before.
Even this wouldn’t prevent another accomplice from manually signaling critical moves to him
You are reading this almost completely incorrectly
Thank you for this post, so many people on here jumping to their own conclusions based on their own intuition with no prior knowledge of either high-level chess, or of the players in question aside from immediate headlines. There may not be a “fire” here, no proof that Hans cheated in the game in question, but there…
Magnus has never levied that kind of accusation at Alireza Firouzja, the number 4 player in the world, who is also 19. Nor has he against many other talented young players who have beat him in the past. So no, his age has nothing to do with the accusation.
Fabiano Caruana has mentioned it as something he heard Magnus talking about prior to the tournament, so while Magnus didn’t state it publicly, there are other unaffiliated observers with respectable reputations that heard him discuss it privately
Not sure if I can post links here to YouTube, but the Yosha - Echecs analysis from 9/25 here is very eye opening. Niemann has a lot of 100% efficiency games vs GMs. In contrast, even amazing games played by Magnus would be like 79% efficiency. -
What really raised suspicions with many chess professionals is that Hans Niemann couldn’t explain his moves, especially the unusual ones, after the match. He also reasoned that he intensively studied Magnus’ ‘line’ before the match, when Magnus has only played that once in his career .ie a presumable lie.
“His over-the-board progress has been unusual, and throughout our game in the Sinquefield Cup I had the impression that he wasn’t tense or even fully [concentrating] on the game in critical positions, while outplaying me as black in a way I think only a handful of players can do.”
I’m glad Carlsen has finally opened up about what’s happening. I’m still unimpressed by both sides.
this is a common interpretation but i think it’s not a totally fair one. magnus has lost before and has never been like this before, ever. only in this one case has he ever been like this... and the opponent in question is indeed a known cheater. the idea that magnus just can’t handle losing doesn’t really add up at…
