In the moment that 2001 Brazil pass felt like a passing the torch moment. While from that moment onwards, you could tell Schumacher got nervous anytime JPM popped up in his mirrors, it’s too bad that Ferrari dominated the next few seasons. Such as shame that Montoya didn’t come along 5 years earlier, I would’ve loved

They do run Monaco full now (apart from a slight variation in the harbor chicane). The Gen2 cars did Porsche Supercup laptimes though, which was not a great look for the series.

See the greatness of the costume is that it’s not actually her; it’s Robert Pattinson.

Also doesn’t have a race.

I’m with you, I’d love to see a cap of 20 races, but it’s not happening. Though for 2023, with China doubling down on its covid policy, it looks extremely unlikely that the Chinese GP is happening. Here’s to hoping they don’t replace it.

The FIA doesn’t schedule the races.

I believe this is the first time they’re going down under. Seems like a strange move considering the Aussie GP generally has a pretty strong support schedule filled with local series. Also, Elizabeth lists Abu Dhabi as a street track, which it’s not. Melbourne is.

Why would they not allow them to show damage in some racing games, but they would allow it in others? Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, that argument always seems like a bit of a cop out on the devs part.

Another example: the Mercedes W12 can be given a few different base liveries in iRacing, but it doesn’t have a template that allows you to fully customize it like all other cars do.

You don’t know that. Audi will be entering at a much more convenient time then Honda, for instance; at the very start of a new (simplified) power unit era.

Not entirely correct. Unlike Alfa, who indeed only have a sponsorship deal with Sauber in place, Audi will actually be majority owners by 2026. The team will be operated in Switzerland with Sauber facilities, but technically there will be no such thing as ‘Sauber personnel’. They will be Audi personnel at that point

No details have yet been made public, but it’s been widely reported that Audi will increase their share in Sauber every year until 2026, at which point they will be majority owners of Sauber Motorsport. The factory may keep the Sauber name, but my guess is they’ll probably drop it from their official F1 entry name

It’s a little murky but it seems that his main source of income is through his family, who own a number of major businesses in China. As you mentioned, this virtually guarantees that there is at least some connection to the Chinese government.

Michelin made a colossal mistake, there’s no doubt about that. But they went above and beyond what any other major company would’ve done in order to try and fix it. They were stifled by Todt and Mosley, who may not have caused it, but certainly bear significant responsibility for what the GP ended up being.

Congrats on being the one billionth person that doesn’t understand the difference between F1 and the FIA.

And yet the fastest lap in that 1990 Suzuka race was almost identical to this year’s fastest lap. Except that in 2022, it was set in the wet.

Prost wasn’t Senna’s teammate in 1990. He moved to Ferrari prior to the season.

There’s a time limit (25 mins + 1 lap) since that’s is fairly standard for F4 level series; I know Italian F4 uses the same format.

Why on earth would F1, a large commercial entity, not want this series to work as a true feeder series into F3/F2? They’d kill for a legitimately good female driver. Together with the FIA they added the W Series to run as an F1 support series in order to get more eyeballs on it.

It’s not a loophole, it’s the rule. This article may state that this was the FIA’s ‘interpretation’, but that is categorically false. The sporting regulations are public and this particlar line should’ve been included in the article (emphasis mine):
