Alonso will be 45 during the season Audi will formally take over Sauber. Don’t see that happening.

You need to know which races to visit. Go to one in an obscure country with questionable politics, fewer fans and it’s quite easy. At Baku 2017, we got signatures from nearly the entire F1 grid expect for the Merc guys. Literally bumped into Lance Stroll during our Thursday pit walk, which was awkward.

I don’t think we will ever see him as a competitive racer again. He’s clearly lost the fire a while ago, I find it hard to see how that’s going to come back.

VR is great for hotlapping, but for any type of endurance race I find it just way too uncomfortable.

Virtually all of them.

They’re a new entry.

Very slowly.

It is.

The “scheme” didn’t help Verstappen onto the F1 grid. When Mercedes, Red Bull, and to a lesser extent Ferrari were all vying for his signature in mid-2014 (he was unaffiliated at the time), he only signed with the Red Bull program under the condition that they give him a Toro Rosso contract for 2015. He wasn’t really

Getting dropped by Red Bull is not the end of the road for a racing driver. Dan Ticktum, who was also very controversial, got scooped up by Williams pretty quickly after getting dropped (for a second time) from the program, and he’s in FE right now.

In F2, apart from Nissany, you can add Tadasuke Makino to the list. He was really the first one (Barcelona 2018, when Fukuzumi’s car bounced on top of his halo).

Carlos Reutemann had more points in over 100 fewer GPs. He also had double the win total (12) of Patrese.

Note about Schumacher ‘losing’ a title: he’d probably gain the ‘97 one back, as he could’ve just let Villeneuve past in that scenario and still won it by finishing second.

Didn’t even get to the part where Nissany ran two wheels on the dirt at the start for no reason, then again on the straight to Copse for no reason, running wide outside the track through Copse corner; understeering into Novalak at Stowe corner, which made him run wide there and ended with a lovely rejoin and near

A few Amon tidbits, if you’re interested:

Too soon.

Alonso was 46 seconds behind the leader when the SC came out. Awesome race, but not exactly keeping pace with the front-runners.

It’s remarkable how they manage to be the biggest loser in a race they won.

Hey, I’m a Grizzlies fan, I haven’t had a lot to cheer about so dismissing other people’s success is all I have.
