That’s the inherent issue with Sprint qualifying. These drivers aren’t idiots, they’re not going to take any risk just to move up one grid spot.

According to Gary Anderson at the-race.com, it’s to exhaust hot air from the radiator over the top of the newly (re-)introduced beam wing.

I must’ve missed Seb’s incredible redemption arc.

“Thankfully for us, Grosjean decided to bring his talents to America, where he can take on an equally-matched field of incredible drivers and really show his talent.”

“A majority of the multi-car accidents I was in were not my fault”

I’m assuming that omitting Verstappen is an oversight, given that he’s younger than Sainz and Gasly and beat both of them as a teammate?

This ^

Yep. He’s good enough that he wouldn’t stick out in a negative way, yet he doesn’t have the upside that makes him a must-have-a-seat driver. Particularly with a few good ones expected to arrive in the next year or two (Piastri/Pourchaire/Lawson).

The asterisk will slowly fade away over the years. Particularly since -no matter how strong Lewis finished the year- Verstappen was still the best driver over the full 2021 season.

If you’ve even tangentially followed the Formula One feeder categories, you know that Callum Ilott should have had a race seat in F1

It’s funny you should mention the Formula Regional championship, as that’s the championship where Jamie had a top drive in 2020 and got absolutely smashed by her younger, less experience teammates. None of whom project as future F1 drivers.

So why, then, is Alpine shedding key personnel with abandon?

A resume like hers? I get that we all like to have more female drivers, but this double standard is amazing. Calderon is, even by IndyCar standards, a terrible driver. She’s verifiably much, much worse than even someone like Mazepin, who was the subject of constant ridicule on this very website. But, because of no

Ah man... you were so close. I’m sure she was planning one.

While I’ve generally enjoyed the antics between these two, Wolff mostly seemed like a calm and collected gentleman in recent years. But as it turns out, that’s an image that’s much easier to uphold when there’s no serious opposition. We’ve seen the true Toto this year, and as it turns out, he’s not only a sore loser,

That’s not a particularly hot take. Of course this was their stretagy, they even said as much.

Wrong. Pitting under the safety car takes far shorter than under green. Lewis needed about 15 seconds on Verstappen to make a clean stop for fresh tyres under the safety car; but because of Perez’ efforts, he had only 12. Stopping would’ve put him behind Verstappen (who likely wouldn’t have pitted if Lewis did).

28? That’s shocking, she looks 18. Making it all even more jarring everytime it’s mentioned those two are sisters.

I guarantee you that Mazepin is better than half the IndyCar grid. So there’s that.

Kubica also beat Mick in both his outings.
