He’s already had his trial with the big guns, and passed with flying colors. He’s got three years of F1 experience under his belt, and he’s the same age as Verstappen and Leclerc. Same age as Lewis and Seb when they won their first titles, too.

You’re actually being nice here, since he got outqualified by Sirotkin 8-12.

Also, the team that swapped Bottas back ahead of Lewis on the last corner of the 2017 Hungarian GP, because Bottas had let Hamilton past earlier to allow him to try and go for 2nd position (which ultimately failed).

But probably won’t.

Not in qualifying he wasn’t.

Kinda boring, no?

It’s hard to bet against Mercedes for next season. There will be some shuffling for sure but odds are that the big money teams will still end up on top.

I think we can safely say that Hülkenbergs F1 career is truly over now, unless Williams does a U-turn on Russell’s replacement.

I think Lance has really suffered from skipping F2. He could have used a season or two there and enter F1 a lot more prepared. His first season was atrocious, apart from the fluke podium in Baku.

You’re right, we should applaud Bottas for his immense contribution to Mercedes winning the 2017-2020 constructors titles against all odds.

Wow. 9 wins in 5 years. That’s the same amount as Rosberg… in 2016 alone.

Williams has a Mercedes supply deal until at least 2025, I believe. Seems like they want Albon, but Wolff doesn’t want a Red Bull driver in a Mercedes powered car, and Red Bull doesn’t want to release a driver who was involved in their car development in order for him to go to a Mercedes powered team.

He didn’t ignore it. He backed off massively in the last sector to allow Lewis to beat his lap time by 1.4 seconds.

Bottas being a great number two is a myth. Moving over for a teammate is something everyone can do. A good number two would occasionally threaten the competition.

You do realize that you’re condemning Mercedes for not allowing Bottas the fastest lap, when the whole reason he could go for the fastest lap was because he was thoroughly outpaced by both Max and Lewis, right?

I’m not one to defend Bradley, but that’s a really dumb argument. There’s nothing wrong with what he said there.

He’s being outpaced by Sebastian Vettel, a 4 time WDC who hasn’t been good for a few years now and looks totally checked out from F1.

Russell won’t have to if he performs as expected.

So what you’re saying is that we should do 25 GP’s at Spa and Austria each year?

The problem is that the gap with Verstappen has been escalating as the season has gone on. He always argued that he would need a few races to get up to speed, and Checo did take points off Hamilton in Monaco and Baku, which is very good. But since France, he hasn’t been able to play any meaningful role in the
