They just removed the one between the last two turns, which was the one that was causing all the issues.

He’s not regressing or anything. He’s simply in the same position now that Verstappen was earlier in his career: his car isn’t quite there so he has to make risky moves to get results. It looks clumsy at times, but he has little to lose. Once he gets back to the front, He’ll have the luxury to settle down a bit.

Schumacher’s heroic fifth-gear race was at the Spanish GP in 1994. He finished second. In a Benetton.

They were never planning to do a double header here. The first one was a replacement for Canada, which was cancelled a few months ago, and then Turkey, which was supposed to take its place but also couldn’t go through.

It’s an often used excuse, but isn’t the more logical explanation that he was never quite that great to begin with?

He bested them because he had a better car. Mystery solved.

Recommend to just watch F3 and F2 instead. Faster cars, better drivers, better racing.

His teammates couldn’t touch him.”

What renaissance? They’re the third or fourth best team. He stuck with them for 4 years before calling it quits.

If anything, this is yet another indication Mercedes is moving on without Bottas. Holding Russell back another season seems like a strech, but another two seasons? No way that happens. So they might as well make the move for 2022.

Oh, he was brilliant in his rookie year. No argument there.

So did Jenson Button. In fact, apart from Heikki Kovalainen in 2009, every single season of Lewis’ career he’s also had a teammate win at least 1 race. So maybe those cars weren’t quite that bad.

The shocking part is: they haven’t really ‘lost’ a race. They were check-mated by Verstappen’s mega in- and outlap in France, but they’ve really been beaten on merit everywhere. In fact, they actually ‘stole’ the Bahrain GP which, pace wise, should’ve been a Red Bull win.

No. Not beating Verstappen in any of the races so far is.

Reliability has also massively padded Lewis’ stats. Hamilton has had 11 mechanical DNF’s in his career, in 14+ seasons.

100% agree. I think Lewis is a more complete driver at this point, which is logical given his experience. He’s certainly one of the all-time greats. I believe Verstappen has more raw pace but still has some rough edges.

Hamilton’s rookie season was at age 22 in a McLaren, which was the best car on the grid. Verstappen’s rookie season was at age 17 in a Toro Rosso. But sure, let’s compare them without any context.

Mercedes has protected Valtteri for 5 years now, and now that they really need him, he’s giving them nothing. Hasn’t beaten Verstappen once all year, even though they’ve had a clear pace advantage in a few of the races.

Their timing is as impeccable as the last time they left.

It’s Bradley, so as per usual, the opposite is true. Verstappen is the biggest natural talent we’ve ever seen. Winning 10 F3 races in his first season out of go-karts is something we’ll probably never see again. It’s the single biggest achievement any junior has ever managed. A 17 year old F1 driver is something,
