Not only that, but the show is full of nods to the tactics of military diversion, and how effective a well-planned diversion can be. It hearkens back to Robb’s battles.

It’d be quite the surprise to have built up all that “he’ll be the Night King’s bait!!1!” suspense and leave him hanging.
Yeah, I’m 39 so this whole reverse bucket list *spoke* to me.
They may very well escape by ship and sail north. If that happens I’ll be sure to GET HYPE for Cleganebowl, and also for Cersei’s death at the hands of either little brother.
Oh, it will happen for sure. But if you remember the suicide squad’s expedition to capture a wight, the group was surrounded by a few wights and one white walker, and when Jon Snow killed the white walker, all the wights died but one (which was captured). At the time they Snow explained the ones that died did so becaus…
Can Bran actually see the future though? Or is he just a hard drive of all the past? If he can’t see into the future, what he thinks will happen is irrelevant.
Can you blame him? ;-)
House said it best:
Ooooo, maybe. And then Arya will drop-kick her in the mouth.
It’d be really lazy storytelling if they showed it again for no reason. Just like we know shit’s about to go down at the crypts because they’ve been mentioned 1000 times.
I think they cut this whole section out. Maybe they thought it would be confusing to make all the Starks wargs, or maybe it would make Bran's abilities less *special*.
In case that really happens, only those in possession of Valyrian steel will be left standing. Which means, not many.
I'm intrigued by your ideas and wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
Oh man, the next few episodes will be a never-ending Hardhome. Your idea makes sense because the dead know the living will tire and succumb eventually. The showrunners should make Xanax available to viewers somehow.
Or... It may be time for dog (er, direwolf) ex machina. According to some theories, Nymeria & co will show up in the nick of time and tear shit down. Who knows.
Cersei thinks she’s way smarter than she actually is. She’s incredibly self-serving and does not think far ahead, and the consequences are dire. She deserves to have the dead knocking on her door after her latest “savvy” move.
You may have lost your hearing in your right ear, but your writing is as sharp as it’s ever been. We’re all getting old and broken, and you nailed what that’s like.
Maybe, but I’m not sure Cersei is capable of something that selfless. When she sees the Night King she may just think he’s a strapping fella who could be husband material.
Oh, something shady is about to happen involving the crypts. I don’t know if undead Starks will rise up and fight for the Night King (seems to far-fetched) but they’ve been mentioning and showing the place too much. It’s kind of too much nudge-nudge, wink-wink for my taste.
I currently subscribe to the theory that the Night King, conspicuously absent from last episode’s final scene, is en route to King’s Landing, where shit will get real and he’ll amass more dead (golden dead even!) to his army. While that happens, the poor souls at Winterfell will be battling the wights and white walker…
