That film is something of a mess. I actually quite like it, but it's pretty hard to follow. The writers' strike probably didn't help.

I maintain that people projected Craig's "I'd rather slit my wrists" comment onto his performance in the film. I didn't see anything to suggest he was "over it" or bored. He was as solid as he was in the other films.

I would argue that the majority aren't "bad". There's a lot of immensely forgettable ones, though.

Connery is great, but Thunderball and You Only Live Twice are barely watchable. Conversely, Lazenby is a wet fish but OHMSS is awesome.
