His casting as Superman was just about the only thing I liked about Man of Steel (I never even bothered with the others). What a perfect role for him.

Oof. Yeah, that’s not the movie I’d rip off if I were going to make a cyberpunk story (if I didn’t have my own ideas and really wanted to do a Gibson thing, I’d just rip off Neuromancer).
I haven’t played Cyberpunk yet so I have no opinion on the “Is it an RPG” debate, but I will say that a part of the reason I’ve dragged my feet on picking it up is based on concerns I’ve had since before it was even out about the narrative. I mean, its title is literally the name of a genre that is all about exploring…
Oh, man... I feel a sadness deep in my bones on reading this.
Thanks! I certainly appreciate the insight from you and all those who responded. It sounds like this might be exactly the kind of game I would enjoy, when I have the time for it. I’ll check it out!
The newer AC games are exactly the type of thing when I think about the problems with open world games over the last almost decade. There’s so little actual content in them, it seems, but plenty of busy work (which I get enough from my actual work, thank you very much).
This is good to hear from someone who was in the same boat. I shall add it to the ol’ wishlist. Thanks!
Whoa! Now that’s an endorsement.
Phew, I’ve still got some time then!
Jesus fucking Christ.
Oh Jesus, what happened to Zelda Williams? If I even want to know, given the context here...
Wow! I’ve just now realized how terrible I am at this game. I have never gotten any further than taking over Ireland, and even that eventually ended with me losing my head.
Here’s a question: as someone who is kind of bored of open world games and their usual filler but still really likes them when they’re good, should I check out Horizon Zero Dawn? I don’t have a PS console so I can’t pick up the sequel, but I quite like Ashly Burch as a voice actor so I thought maybe the first one…
Oh, right on! I hope you enjoy it. And if you’re interested, check out Three Kingdoms, it’s really good.
I’m a freak who honestly still prefers the history based Total War games to the Warhammer ones. I can’t really say why, I’m a big fantasy geek, but I guess I just want my Total War to be historical. I am really glad the Warhammer games have been so popular though and have brought a lot of fun to so many people!
They actually do still do Jimpressions and Squirty Plays still on Youtube! They aren’t super frequent but they do pop up. Not sure about Twitch since I don’t really watch streams.
Yeah that aesthetic led to me assuming for years that they were a very different type of Youtuber than they are. It was only after seeing Abigail Thorn of Philosophy Tube praise their work that I actually checked out Jimquisition, and was very glad I did.
I have become a huge fan of Jim Stephanie Sterling’s work over the last few years, after ignoring them for a long time out of the assumption they were just another reactionary, ranty person on Youtube. Man, I was wrong.
If we have covid forever, does that mean that nothing ever changes, and it will never be okay to travel, or go to the movies, or go to conventions, etc. ever again? Because I’m not sure how to go on without anything to ever look forward again.
I would do anything for this to see the light of day without being fucked with by Nintendo’s lawyers, somehow. Anything. If I can get OoT on my PC, I’ll never need another video game!
