Personally my favorites are FF1 and FFX. I have no idea if either of those are unpopular opinions, but I’m curious how many people besides me would put them at the top together.

Whoa, they made an Ooku anime? I am going to have to check that out.
I have a lot of thoughts I’d like to express about Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty, this review, etc, but I can’t because all I can focus on is that “Idrussy” is the best worst word I’ve read in a while. Bravo.
Never heard of the first one, but this game seems pretty cool. I’ll have to check it out if I get a chance.
I really do try not to be overly pedantic, but when I read that I zoomed down to the comments section to see if anyone else had pointed this out because in my opinion that’s actually a pretty important thing to understand.
Man I would kill to finally play Xenogears. And to finally play FFT now that I’m older and might not suck at it so much so I can get more than a couple hours into the story, hah.
I didn’t mean it as an insult, my apologies if you felt that way about it. Believe me I just recently replayed the original games for the billionth time earlier this year and am definitely not forgetting the silly stuff in that. The only reason I said that is because I saw people who seemed to be side-eyeing the above…
Lol, yeah of course! That was poorly phrased on my part. All I meant was that I personally am excited to play 5e the Video Game meets Divinity: Original Sin, and Baldur’s Gate 3 seems fun for that reason, not for being another Baldur’s Gate game (an itch it does not scratch for me, because it feels nothing like the…
Goofy shit like this is why I am going to prefer to think of this game as a D&D adaptation instead of a true successor to Baldur’s Gate. I feel like if I don’t approach BG3 with any level of seriousness (or the expectations that being a sequel to my all-time favorite game would bring) I can probably accept it, druid…
Fair enough!
I admit I’m not much of a patriot, but even I have to salute John Walker for his great work this July 4. Every holiday I anticipate these articles with a mixture of glee and (for my wallet’s sake) fear.
Not the first two Fallout games? I felt they were a reasonable (even obvious) pick
I’m a PC gamer, but I usually just throw away the money on buying prebuilt computers because I’m afraid of fucking up on building my own :( Last time I got a new PC I almost did build my own, but I chickened out.
How DARE they. It’s otherwise so difficult to look at butts in video games and online!
That’s exactly how I feel about it. I don’t hate the game, but it doesn’t excite me, either.
I cannot argue with the top two options here. Personally, I’d put Twilight Princess a bit lower, which is amusing to me because as a teen who loved the Lord of the Rings films I was very excited for the darker look advertised, but in hindsight I sure was a buffoon.
I don’t know if even the official answer is a good one, since the first game in the series lacks an “exciting story” and is (in my opinion) still one of the best FF games.
It’s a bummer because I just don’t think action games are very fun. I don’t really consider myself a turn-based traditionalist but I’m not wild about the combat in the new FF games because it’s just a little fast-paced for me, and I get bored of that easily.
I have the game but I haven’t started playing it yet, which is driving me mad. I’m moving to a new country in a few months where my internet will be spotty so I’m saving the game for that time, but boy, I just want to dive in.
Couldn’t agree more! I was hoping Kotaku would still have a review up eventually because I think they’re often among the most well-written ones I ever see.
