I admit I am not as good at looking at bylines as I should be, but I enjoyed all your posts that I had the good sense to notice were yours. I hope you have good fortune wherever you go next, and Kotaku will be a lesser place without you!

Could not agree more!
If Ocarina gets a PC port like that, I would be overjoyed. I’m not willing to spend that much on NSO just for a couple of extra 20 year old games, but I would love to be able to play Ocarina again without the teeny tiny 3DS screen ruining my old man eyes.
All fair points.
I’ve actually never played a FromSoftware game! My gaming time is limited and while I do enjoy difficult games, I am more into ones like Celeste than ones where all I can ever hear is how brutally punishing they are. But if Bloodborne ever comes to PC, I’ll definitely check it out.
As someone who never owned a PS4, even if that is true, I hope Bloodborne comes to PC just so I can see for myself.
The animation style reminds me of those old Fleischer cartoons by way of Gravity Falls. This is not necessarily a bad thing. I’m a fan of both.
Definitely not scared of such topics as I’m queer myself, but you know, I’ve been meaning to watch this movie for many years! My partner quite likes it and I really love Chinese cinema. I should give it a watch for sure. I didn’t know about the opera version of it, thank you for the link!
I have little to contribute to the discussion, because I do not play Genshin Impact, but I really do like Beijing opera. I wish I knew where I could start with getting more into it.
Aw, thanks! That’s nice of you to say.
This is gonna sound stupid, but I’m just resolving to have more fun. Every year I’m like “I’m going to play this many games,” or what-have-you, and sometimes life gets in the way.
I have had my Switch for 3 years and never knew there was a dark mode. Well. Don’t I feel silly.
I usually play games like Kentucky Route Zero on the PC, but for that price it might be nice to have on my Switch to finally play it. Hmm... I have a tough decision to make.
The first episode of Scarlet Hollow is fucking great. I discovered it because of the article on Buried Treasure, and I love it. Haven’t played the second yet because I’m afraid of how long the wait for the whole story will be so I’d like to parcel it out as much as I can...
As a historian, the growth in movies, TV shows, and video games about historical eras is very interesting to me, and very welcome. This looks good!
I share your iffiness over that concept, but if I remember correctly CDPR was blocking people from sharing those mods around, not making them themselves, right? In theory if you knew how, you could still mod it yourself.
First of all, you have a very appropriate username for this discussion, and I dig it. Second of all, those are some good points, and I think there’s room for nuance in these discussions (there have to be, the way technology is going, because I don’t think these discussions are going away).
I definitely think it’s an issue of consent and CDPR was right to get rid of said mods. That said, I am delighted at Keanu’s enthusiasm at the idea. It’s deeply disconcerting, but I respect it nonetheless.
As someone who is always on the lookout for fascinating new indie games, these articles are what I look forward to every US holiday. My wishlists just got a lot bigger!
Hell yeah! But then it’s unfair to compare Japanese food to American food, really.
