Whoa, that is different than what I’d heard. I was under the impression that it did include all DLC. Actually, wait, I remember now—it doesn’t include Pinnacle Station, right? I suppose that is a shame, for those who enjoyed it, you’re right. Same with the multiplayer, which I never played outside the demo but

Ooh well hey, that is still good to know! I really appreciate the information, clearly the information I had was inaccurate. Thanks!

Haha well, I’d hoped the context of the rest of the post made that statement sound a little less silly, but I guess not. What I meant was if all games have stuff cut during development, what makes Mass Effect different that doing so renders the game lesser? Cut content is just the reality of... really any form of

True! But, unless I am mistaken—which, you know, odds are good that I am—the version available now does not include things like old preorder bonuses or stuff like that, and I think I read that the remaster will.

I’m all for questioning 100% of what a corporation tells us, but isn’t taking out a ton of content during development pretty much universal in games? I guess I’m curious how cutting stuff out means it’s not a complete experience?

Hah, well, that’s certainly an option! Of course then there’s no voice acting, and my point wasn’t so much that I don’t want to hear any, just that I like the balance in the original version of Disco Elysium. Still, more paying work for voice actors is never a bad thing, and I realize I’m basically the only person

I’m quite excited. I used to be a huge Bioware fan (Baldur’s Gate 2 remains my all-time favorite game), and I love all 3 Mass Effect games, despite their not inconsiderable flaws. I’m wary of any new EA product, of course, but I am cautiously optimistic that these will be a good time. Especially since my Xbox 360 is

I absolutely love this game—Disco Elysium was possibly the best gaming experience I had last year, and last year I started playing Hades. However, maybe this is just my “old man yells at cloud” moment, but I do sort of wish the Final Cut didn’t have full voice acting. I adore the art of voice acting, but one of the

Probably just different strokes, you know? It’s clearly a game a lot of people love (me included), but it sure isn’t for everyone. I found it both fun and thought provoking in equal measure--and what was cool was my partner, who plays few video games, also really got into it, so it certainly seems to have done quite a

Oh man, the title of this one just about caused my heart to stop. If Luke were to leave, who else would share my Total War and Crusader Kings love around here?

I’m on Kotaku every day, but somehow I missed this post. I am very excited to purchase this game, and cannot wait until the day when I can finally move back to Taiwan!

Yikes, that is pricey. I realize that’s just how currency conversion works, but I feel like there’d be a big psychological barrier for me spending that much on a game (even more than there already is for me spending $60 on a game, something I do maybe once or twice a year at most).

About ten years ago my buddy got his hands on a copy of Pokemon Snap, and we played it together in less than an evening. Neither of us had played it since its release, and we were amazed by how short it was.

Eh, I don’t think that’s so. $60 is plenty, publishers are just greedy. If a game is sold full price and is yet loaded with microtransactions, that’s generally a pretty good sign that it’s not worth playing.

This is precisely why, even though I’m vaccinated, I intend to wear a mask even in low risk public situations. At this point it’s as much about sending a message as anything. Which is, just... fucking ridiculous, but that’s where we are.

I’m really glad you posted this! Lindsay Ellis does great work.

Yeah, the last year has definitely made Deus Ex a difficult game to replay.

To be fair, when listening to Bach, I do usually find myself wishing it was Schubert instead.

Dammit, I’m not too far from BCC... I shoulda gotten my vaccine from there instead of all the way in Worcester, where nothing good has ever happened.

I hope they aren’t normally judging. But I don’t want to assume.
